Syriac Orthodox Fenqitho in Arabic?

Dear Nasqaniyyoun,

do you know if there is Fenqitho ( الفنقيث) or any part of it translated into Arabic by Syriac Orthodox? I am aware of all parts translated in late 19th century by Syriac Catholics, but I am pretty sure there may be some differences.

Dear Dominika,

In the HMML Reading Room (https://www.vhmml.org/readingRoom), you can search for "Penqítā (Syriac Rite, Western)" in the Title field, select Arabic as the Language, and look at the results from Syriac Orthodox collections. For example, the collections ASOM, CFMM, DIYR, MAMT, MGMT, SMMJ, SOAA, SOAH, SOCTQM, and ZFRN all have results. This will provide you with several dozen Arabic and/or bilingual examples. Of course there may be manuscripts produced by Syriac Orthodox scribes and/or translators that are now in Syriac Catholic and other collections, but this requires a much more thorough examination of the manuscripts.

Dear Dominika and Josh,

It depends on what you mean by فنقيث. If you mean a large volume (regardless of liturgical genre), then you will find stuff. But if you want the restrictive genre type (i.e. metered hymns of the canonical hours for Sundays and feast days), I would also be highly interested--and equally surprised--if one can find such a phenqitho. I have never seen one. And I have never heard any modern parish practice one. This, of course, does not mean that there are no hymns in Arabic/Garshuni. But we are talking here about an entire Phenqitho, right?

So I look forward to be surprised and shocked!

Dear George,

I mean variable hymns for Sundays and feast days outside Qurbono (Liturgy) as those are easy to find. 

As I have mentioned, I have found only Syriac Catholic ones, shared on the page of the Department of Syriac Studies:

In Vhmml I've found Arabic Garshuni and a few positions from Syriac Catholic, so the questions are:

1. Those publications in Garshuni contain those hymns? I mean, should I learn the script?
   
2. Are those texts present in Syriac Catholic libraries really Catholic or Orthodox? 
   

I have just started my PHD project, it is too early to announce the exact topic, however, I need Syriac Orthodox texts in Arabic. I am especially interested in "Greek Canons" and also such parts of Fenqitho like this (I am sorry for the source) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsCysMH0vjY

Are those available at least in Arabic Garshuni? Is there also any data/paper/other material saying, if those texts are really (not) used at the parishes services?
