If you are interested in the circles around Patriarch Sylvester, their travels across the 18th-century Ottoman world, and the history of his Arabic printing press, this book brings together previously unknown primary sources—many of them published and translated here for the first time. The letters open up the intellectual, social, and institutional networks in which Sylvester and Mūsā Ṭrābulsī moved, based on archival material that has until now remained largely inaccessible.
