Colleagues,
I am pleased to share with you the publication of my latest book, Satellite Ministries: The Rise of Christian Television in the Middle East, by Oxford University Press. This monograph is the first to explore the history of Christian channels in the region, particularly those broadcasting in Arabic but also in Persian and Turkish. It follows their journey from the first American-backed station in South Lebanon in 1981 to the numerous locally produced broadcasts prevalent today. It examines how Western evangelicals and indigenous Christians utilized terrestrial and satellite technologies to disseminate their perspectives on theology, spirituality, culture, and politics. Through a close study of sixteen channels, Satellite Ministries uncovers the opportunities and discord these media platforms have instigated.

Thank you.
Best Regards,
Febe Armanios
