NASA FANS, we can tentatively pat ourselves on the back. However,

more work on our part indicated. NASA is proposing a heavy-lifter to

replace the Space Shuttle which should be operational by or before

2016 if properly funded. It will be used to take earthlings beyond earth

orbit - which we have not done since 1973! It will also serve as a back-up

for untried commercial efforts to bring cargo and later cargo and

astronauts to Space Station (with construction complete, astronauts

will be able to focus much more on astronomical, meteorological,

geological and environmental studies, as well as, material engineering,

pharmacological development and equipment testing for manned

missions to the moon, Mars, asteroids, Mars' moons); in the event that

problems regarding the commercial companies - SpaceX and Virgin

Galactic - causing delays or long periods wherein they can't fly, the

new NASA heavy-lifter will fill in the gaps. However, it will primarily be

concerned with manned missions beyond earth orbit...

CONSTELLATION RISES from the DEAD and the sun god APOLLO RISES

with it...The proposed heavy-lifter will consist of a technologically

cutting-edge version of the old Apollo command module (Constellation's

Orion) atop a cutting-edge Saturn 5 (moon rocket) third stage poised on

top of a Space Shuttle-type large external fuel tank (with an engine on the

bottom; Space Shuttle's tank didn't have a rocket engine in that it fed fuel

to the Space Shuttle's engine) and larger booster rockets then those employed

in Space Shuttle Program. Obama killed Constellation in an effort to kill our

NASA! NASA and Constellation rise after thought dead. No word yet on

Constellation Program's Altair lander...

There are members of congress who are opposed to above plan but want instead

to revive Constellation's Orion/Ares 1 and Ares 5 heavy-lifter...

Which approach do you favor. We're leaning toward building on the best: 

Apollo/Shuttle/Constellation.
