There is no way to control the actions of a certain application using web control as web control's setting don't have the ability for a granular config. Though this is possible via DLP policy by configuring File rule and manually add the possible file extensions which mostly being uploaded/downloaded on whatsapp. However there is a limitation as well when doing it on DLP since the only options we can get was as of below for Internet browsing.
Note: applying this settings may render you to upload any type of documents selected under "File type". If you're environment does not usually uploads file via internet like .gpg, .png. mp3, mp4 etc which is commonly being upload via whatsapp then this set-up will work for you.
The idea is to block all instant messaging applications and web services (Signal, Telegram, Discord, etc...) except Whatsapp Web (it is widely used so block it can be a business issue). But for security reason I want to block file upload and download for all kind of files and pictures.
What you seggested is a good option. I already thought about create a DLP policy, but unfortunately Whatsapp is not included in destionation conditions. If I create a policy to block specific file extensions upload as destination web browsing, all data upload for that extension will be blocked, and it is something to avoid, because we use some internal web tools that required users to upload and download files.
As the title suggests, from the Samsung Z Fold 3 settings I enabled the double account on Whatsapp.
The first problem was not having downloaded the backup I had, in the end I didn't download it anymore. Now I have noticed another problem, whatsapp does not download media.
I have checked and enabled all permissions. The absurd thing is that, fortunately, I realized that it works with whatsapp web. So I can download and view everything from PC and not from mobile.

Ho controllato e abilitato tutte le autorizzazioni. La cosa assurda che, per fortuna, mi sono accorto che con whatsapp web funziona. Quindi posso scaricare e visualizzare tutto da PC e no dal cellulare.
Unfortunately i have the same problem. So disappointing to buy a top model very expensive and have this issue. Since several years I am Samsung user and always used this functionality of Dual WhatsApp. Really hope that Samsung sorts this.
still waiting. have the same problem as in cannot download images on the second whatsapp account. also cannot restore from Google (again second account). I too use the second account for work, and one of the most important reasons in switching to a more "productive" phone. Samsung needs to get its act together. the xiaomi and Huawei phones don't have these teething problems even at launch.
I'm experiecing the exact same problem, just purchased the Galazy Fold Z 3 and dual whatsapp does not access to the storage (and dual whatsapp I used it for work therefore is paramount to have it)...this is a huge shame and I'm extremely disappointed by this lack of professionality from Samung...Pls keep us posted about when this problem will be finally solved unless I will throw this huge Folded ***** and after more than 15 years with Samsung I will pass to Iphone
Hi everybody, just to let you know how I'm coping with dual WhatsApp problem, as alternative solution I downloaded WhatsApp Business using the same number of the whatsapp dual and now I have been able both to restore the last backup and to start again using the normal WhatsApp functionalities. Still this doesn't change my/our disappointment about the lack of professionality from Samsung, but at least will enable who is facing this problem to bypass the problem.
Hi, I have a client who gets a randomly ip and this ip can't download any kind of media (jpg, audio or videos) on whatsapp. My workaround today is making a exclude range on DHCP for this ip, this way the user gets a new ip and is able to download media again. My question, Fortinet could be blocking this ip or maybe my problem is on my dhcp configuration?
If FGT is responsible one particular internal DHCP IP can't download something, it got to be a policy blocking it specifically. If you don't see anything obvious in the policies, run a "flow debug" to see if it's dropped by the FGT and if so why it's dropped.
