Notes about the 2013 National Conference

·         The conference will be held in Anaheim, CA on August 27 and 28.

·         The theme of this year’s conference is: Improving Peer Support through Sharing.

·         More about the conference and a call for workshop proposals will be issued early in May.

National Standards

For those of you who are following / participating in establishing national practice standards for peer supporters, the survey of core values (first step in the process) ended on April 15th and an analysis of the 547 responses is underway. Input from the survey will be combined with recommendations from focus groups around the country.

If you participated in the survey or any of the focus groups, thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. For those of you who gave additional comments about the definition of peer, peer supporter, or the core values of peer support, we appreciate your honest and thoughtful feedback.  All of your suggestions are being considered as we move forward in the process.
