National Standards for Peer Supporters - DEADLINE FOR COMMENT June 21, 2013

A draft of the National Standards for Peer Supporters is now open for public comment until June 21, 2013. When finalized, the National Standards will be used to set policy and shape the future of peer support services.  If you have already commented on the draft, thank you for your input. Be sure to share this opportunity with others. Every voice matters!

NATIONAL CONFERENCE NEWS


About the 7th Annual Peer Supporter Conference (Aug 27 and 28)

This year’s Annual Conference will be held at the Sheraton Garden Grove Hotel (near Anaheim), California on August 27 and 28, 2013.

Pre- and Post-conference institutes are in the planning stages, including institutes by Recovery Innovations and the SAMHSA-Funded Recovery to Practice training for working peer supporters.

Scholarships

The deadline to apply for a SAMHSA Scholarship is passed. As reported in previous news briefs, funding for the scholarships is uncertain. We will provide updates as we get them.

The deadline to apply to be a workshop presenter is passed. We thank all who have submitted a proposal and will be selecting the workshops to determine the final conference program soon.
