For the sake of this discussion I do not care about MSU-1 games, I mainly care about performance and compatibility, and the default emulator seems to have both of those. The default emulator runs every game I have tried with no issues and plays as intended, so in my opinion it is very accurate (again, I'm not sure in what context this word is being used). Can someone explain to me how lr-snes9x is more "accurate" or how it is better? Or is it mainly just for those who want to use MSU-1 compatible games?
Hey guys, I am new to this subreddit and I'm hoping you can help me. I've got a PSP3001 with CFW and am running SNES9X Euphoria to emulate some of my favorite SNES classics. However, I'm having trouble with Donkey Kong Country 2 freezing on me every so often. Can you help me with the best settings to run this game well without having it crash? Or is there a better emulator you guys would recommend? Thanks in advance!
Im running snes9x on my ASUS Memo 7 and I can not, for the life of me, find any sign of my save files. I want to transfer my saved games to PC so I can continue when the tablet is charging. snes9x options says there should be a save file created in the same location that I loaded the ROM from...but its not there! I have a feeling that maybe its being saved where snes9x is installed but i can not seem to find that on the tablet either. Anyone have any experience setting this up? thanks!
I chose snes9x because I'm familiar with it and, more importantly, it supports background input. This means the game will accept input even when it's not the focused application. This is imperative! This advice can be extended to other emulators if they support multiple config files and background input.
Just wanted to point out (for those who were unaware) that optional core lr-snes9x was updated in the past week and now gives quite possibly the greatest performance and compatibility for SNES gaming for your Pi 3! The most intensive games the console has to offer (Kirby's Dream Land 3, DBZ: Hyper Dimension, Kirby Super Star, Star Fox, Super Mario RPG, Mega Man X3, Yoshi's Island, etc.) run at full speed, even if you've set up twitch streaming on the Pi itself. Please keep in mind, I'm on a safe overclock with active cooling, so that may be the difference maker.
Besides great performance, lr-snes9x now allows us to play MSU-1 enhanced games. For those who are wondering what that is, it's the ability to play SNES roms that have CD quality/lossless audio and fmv's! As an example, here's the MSU-1 enhanced LoZ: A Link to the Past: =8AKSoDFUSKA
How to install lr-snes9x on RetroPie (credit to u/samus12345): Go to Retropie Setup in the Retropie menu, select Update RetroPie-Setup script and confirm. When it's finished, go to Manage Packages, Manage Optional Packages, scroll down to lr-snes9x, and choose Install from binary.
To switch to lr-snes9x as your default SNES emulator, launch any SNES rom and tap the A button (or whatever you set the Confirm button to) before the game starts to configure the emulator. Press A on the first option (Select default emulator for snes" and highlight/select lr-snes9x and press A to confirm. Go down to Launch and press A and you're good to go!
Hey y'all first post on Reddit. I've had my snes classic hacked for some time now but wanted to update to the latest xtreme core set released by KMFDManic early april. im using hakchi ce 3.9.3, a usb stick and otg cable, which i have been using this whole time and they work perfectly. Long story short after a few attempts to get it working, i flashed the stock kernal to start from scratch, added retroarch xtreme and tried using snes9x xtreme as my core for snes games. i can use snes9x 2010 as my core and it works fine, but i thought the xtreme core would be better. if they are essentially the same and there is no advantage as to which one i use then i will stick with 2010 but if xtreme is better than i would like to be able to switch. i try to boot a game from the main menu of the snes ui and the screen goes black for a few seconds and then defaults back to the menu screen. does anyone have any idea why this core isnt working properly?
so i successfuly got my snes games to play on the homebrew channel snes9xgx emulator. i installed snes9x gx wii channel but it loads up and when i click start it goes directly back to my wii home...any idea why this could be happening? thanks
People recommend this console all the time for retro enthusiast despite SNES emulation running at half speed for over half the library. All we've got is a port of snes9x which is far too bloated for the PSP to handle. It runs like dirt, crashes, and I'm tired of it!
Hello, firstly: I'm new to the subreddit, so I apologize if in any way this post is not appropiate for this subreddit and is better suited elsewhere. Secondly, I'm very not good with tech-related issues, so please bear with me in case I may have trouble doing a suggested solution.
Im trying to figure out how netplay works on snes9x and cannot find a descriptive tutorial anywhere on how to do this. I would also like to know if netplay is possible on any N64 emulators. I have a mac osx. Thanks:D
So I'm trying to play a fan translation of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War on the mini and have found that it only wants to launch on the snes9x cores. When I try to play on the default supafaust core it just boots to a black screen. There's a few snes9x cores to choose and I just wanted to make sure I pick the best one as the plain snes9x core had a few frame drops and audio problems. It seems like the 2005+ core may be the best but for some reason it leaves some black bars on the left, right, and bottom of the screen. Also running this on Onion OS 3.11.2.
I am using win 10 64-bit, and somehow, the older nor the newer Snes9x versions will not work for me. So, what other alternatives do i have besides Snes9x? I also can't adjust the volume in snes9x for some reason...
