More Details about Foliage Trip

Hi All,

 

After several discussions, we have agreed on most of the logistics of our Oct foliage trip.

 

1) Accommodation

 

Two nights (Fri. Oct 15, Sat. Oct 16) at Traverse City, MI

 

Zibo will book three double-bed rooms for 6-7 people for two nights in the west suburbs.

After booking, we will pass the hotel information to people at IIT.

 

2) Rent a Van

 

We will rent a mini-van that accommodates 6-7 people. We will purchase both liability and damage insurance so that drivers can take turns. Safety First!!! We also need a volunteer from Argonne to book the van under his/her name and pick up the van Friday noon.

 

People at IIT will arrange their own car/itinerary.

 

3) Proposed Itinerary

 

Friday Oct. 15

 

12:00 pm Van Pickup and Departure (Zibo and Hui need pickup, Zibo's address is 479 Quadrangle Dr., Bolingbrook IL 60440)

7:30 pm Arrival at Hotel in Traverse City

 

Saturday Oct. 16

 

8:00 am- 9:00 am Breakfast

9:00 am Depart for Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore

6:00 pm Back to Traverse City for Dinner

Night Option: Casino

 

Sunday Oct. 17

 

8:00 am- 8:30 am Breakfast

8:30am- 10:00 am Old Mission Peninsular, Scenic Drive

10:00 am- Head back Home

6:00 pm Van Return

 

4) Cost Sharing

 

We will calculate and share the cost after the trip. So please take notes and keep the receipts of your spending.

Hi All,

 

On Hotel Price

 

The best value so far is $80/room/night, incl. breakfast. Since on average, 2 persons stay in one room for Fri. and Sat., each person is expected to pay $80 in total in accommodation for this trip.

 

I will book the rooms (total 5 rooms, including people at IIT) by this weekend. If you have any better suggestions, please reply to this e-mail ASAP. Once booked, the agent does not allow refund.
