After my epiphany, I began scouring the internet to learn all there was to know about vintage trailers and restorations. I researched brands and compiled lists. Which trailer was the best for me? I was surprised to learn that there is a HUGE following for vintage trailers and that some of them are highly sought after. I needed to narrow down my list.

A new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, somewhat confusingly dubbed the "1st trailer" despite being the second trailer counting the reveal, dropped during the PlayStation State of Play May 2024 showcase, and boy does it look good.

The trailer opens with oddly serious narrative crumbs that seem to hint at a missing persons case orbiting a child named Nata. Our hunter, accompanied by new handler Alma and smith Gemma, who the internet will surely be completely normal and calm about, soon sets out to take down two new large monsters, iconic greatsword in hand.

As ever, the monsters are the stars. The first is a bear-like beast reminiscent of Goss Harag from Monster Hunter Rise, seemingly known as the fanged beast Doshaguma. The second, dubbed Chatacabra, is almost snapping turtle-like but built more like an armored gorilla. The main character uses some fresh moves to hunt them down, including a greatsword parry combo, mounted heavy bowgun attacks, and a heavy bowgun explosive attachment.

Monster Hunter Wilds features all 14 existing weapons, with all of them receiving new actions or attacks. Some weapons also have Focus Mode-exclusive attacks, which suggests we'll be budgeting a unique resource while dipping in and out of the mode.

After Monster Hunter Rise, Monster Hunter Wilds has been positioned as a direct followup to Monster Hunter World and Iceborne, and today's trailer drives that home with bonuses for players with World and Iceborne save data. It's not much, but you'll get some exclusive weapons and armor for your Palico cat companion in Wilds.

When fierce bounty hunter Reginald Jones (Peter Dinklage) is recruited by a desperate man to track down a ruthless killer known as Cutthroat Bill (Juliette Lewis), he rallies a band of unlikely heroes including a grave-digging ex-slave and a street-smart woman-for-hire. Together they embark on a perilous quest to track down Cutthroat Bill that leads them into the deadly "no-man's-land" known as... The Thicket. The Thicket is directed by British producer / filmmaker Elliott Lester, director of the films Love Is The Drug, Blitz, Nightingale, Sleepwalker, Aftermath, some music videos, and episodes of the "Will" series previously. The screenplay is written by Chris Kelley, based on the novel also titled "The Thicket" from Joe R. Lansdale. With an original score by Ray Suen. It's produced by Andre L III, Gianni Nunnari; The Exchange; Orogen Entertainment; Caddy Vanasirikul, Brian O'Shea; Chad Oakes, Michael Frislev of Nomadic Pictures; Elliott Lester, Shannon Gaulding. Also produced by Tubi Films; Peter Dinklage & David Ginsberg of Estuary Films. Tubi will debut The Thicket in select US theaters starting on September 6th, 2024 this fall. Who's down?

Well, it depends on how old it is, what materials it is made out of, and how it has been kept and used and maintained. When you look at the ones you come across, make sure you bring someone and have them help you check everywhere in that thing. Look for worn parts, rust, broken things- do a really good inspection. Check the electrics, all of the lights, the tires, the floor, the ceiling, etc. etc. etc. If you happen to know a person who is very knowledgeable about trailers, bring him or her, too!

A good trailer that has been cared for properly will last for a very, very long time, so buying used is fine, just approach it like you would a used car. I would say the biggest things it to arm yourself with information and be thorough in your inspection. Good luck!

I think some careful browsing on craigslist can get you a suitable and safe trailer for under $4,000. You are going to want to be aware of the height of the trailer if you have a bigger horse in addition to checking out any rust spots as well as the lights. You might have to sacrifice a dressing room.

I just sold a nice aluminum Kingston Briarwood trailer 1997 for $3,800. It was in very good shape. The most important thing to look for is the frame. A trailer can look nice on the top but be rusted out on its frame. I had mine sanded and professionally undercoated and it helps preserve the frame but it was not cheap! $750! You do not want your frame falling thru. Most older trailers will show some rust but it depends on how bad the rust is and if it is structurally sound. Surface rust you can slow down by undercoating. If you want to do it yourself corroseal from home depot works well. You can also have a whole new frame put on for about 3k. I think everything else can be fixed easily but the frame is the most important. Also next importance is the floorboards.
I was told frames rot whether they are in use or not.
You might do better buying a new one and financing over the years because I find used trailers in good condition are expensive! But you might luck out if you keep searching!

Once in a while you get lucky and can find a nice used trailer on CL because someone is getting out of horses and want to get rid of stuff quickly. I agree with the others-check out the bargins very carefully with a knowledgable person

Very good points. The OP may end up spending more per year with her own rig. She needs to take a look at the costs and see if it is worth the freedom of being able to trailer on her own or be dependent on only going where a friend or barnmate or trainer is going. There is some value in getting up on a beautiful morning and being able to decide that moment to trailer out for a trail ride or show etc.

For me though, the ability to make MY own decisions re: when and where I go has made it worthwhile. A few years ago, I had a horse camping trip planned with some friends-- it was literally my first chance for a vacation in like 2 years; we had been planning it for months-- and the DAY before, our ride cancelled the entire trip because there was a 20% chance of showers that weekend.

How the hell Sony keep getting these big stars for these cheap-ass SSMU movies is hard to fathom. I can only assume the budget goes mostly into actors fees and they just shave that off the rest of the movies budget. This looks cheap, like Venom, and Morbius. A movie about Kraven, the third Spider-Man villain to get his own movie in a franchise with an absence of Spider-Man is, and was ill-advised. But you know Sony, the strategy is pump out garbage just to keep the Spidey licence alive whilst they soak in the praise for the work being done by Marvel Studios and their own animation dept.

Sony, fire your producers, Pascal and Arad lost it years ago, if they ever had it. The fact the Spider-Verse movies are so good must surely be down to Pascal and Arad not bothering with the first one because it was animated. I cannot imagine these two touched it much as whatever they touch turns to cringe.

Sony, get your live action team to a beach. Tell them all, to start walking into the sea and then run away. The ones who stopped walking and realized what was going on you can keep. However, my guess is 70% of them will just keep walking. Sony are the worst major studio in Hollywood, bar none.

Have you seen the Kraven the Hunter red band trailer yet? Is this the biggest comedy of the year or are we supposed to see this as serous? Tell me, am I missing the joke or is this genuinely what Sony just churned out? Thoughts below as always.

I like Monster Hunter. I like JRPGs. So naturally, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a game I'm very much looking forward to. During the Summer Game Fest, we got another look at the upcoming RPG in the form of a two-minute story trailer, which was full of Monster Hunter's iconic beasts and some beautiful moments. It all looks very much like How to Train Your Dragon meets Monster Hunter.

If you never heard of the first Monster Hunter Stories, I wouldn't blame you. It was only released on the Nintendo 3DS and mobile phones. The general idea is it's kind of like Pokemon, where you could catch and train different monsters and use them in battle. It's not clear if Monster Hunter Stories 2 will follow that same pattern, though, because it seems like the primary focus is on your character's relationship with a Rathalos.
