Hi everyone,

I have just joined the group and am looking forward to the discussions here.

I wanted to flag a submission deadline for a Special Issue of the CERN IdeaSquare Journal of Experimental Innovation (CIJ) that I think aligns well with this community's interests, specifically regarding how we document methodologies and the provenance of ideas.

We are currently guest editing a special issue on Co-creation, and the deadline is approaching on 1st February.

While we welcome full academic papers (3000 words), we are also interested in experimental formats that capture the "atomic" units of collaboration that often get lost in traditional publishing. We are explicitly calling for:

  • Method papers: Short (c. 2 pages) descriptions of specific methodologies or tools.

  • Coffee papers: Transcribed dialogues or "unpolished" reflections between collaborators that capture the spark of an idea.

I know this group thinks about the structure of scientific communication, and we would value contributions that challenge standard publishing norms to capture how innovation actually happens. Part of CIJ's mission is to capture the kind of academic knowledge that doesn't fit elsewhere.

The full call for papers and submission guidelines are here: https://e-publishing.cern.ch/index.php/CIJ/announcement/view/18

If you have any questions about the suitability of a specific format or topic, please feel free to drop me a line.

All the best,
