Hello everybody,

actually I'm working on my bachelor thesis.
Reading about it in some papers, I thought I could use Nanoengineer-1 for constructing DNA-Origami.
But I cannot insert a DNA-Sequenz. I do not know, if i'm only too blind to find the function in the toolbar. ^^
Then I supposed NE-1 is only for visual constructions, but I found research groups, which used it for defining sequences.

Please help me, i'm about to go crazy, since there aren't any tutorials online.
Best regards

Koko

I've used it to build origami. Try this:

Build some origami. Then there are a couple of ways to proceed. The most straightforward is probably to expand the Dnagroup in the model try and select Dnastrand that is the scaffold strand. Then right click on it and Edit Properties. That should bring up the sequence editor where you can load in the Virus sequence. NE1 will fill in the corresponding sequence on the staple strand.

Hope this helps,

Tom

Hello Tom,

thank you for the prompt answer.
But unfortunately it does'nt work...
I add a picture of the DNA Properties that appear in my window.
Maybe this task isn't included in my version of this program?

Best regards,

Koko

Here is how I access it with pictures.

I am using 1.1.1. The sequence editor is at the bottom when you click on the properties of a single strand.

Hello Tom,

thank you so much for your effort.
Now I know I'm not crazy, because this tool doesn't truly excist in my version - this window even doesn't appear.
Maybe I should search for another version, although my version is NE-1 1.1.1.

Best regards

Koko
