to Nampa Classical Academy Information
In the August 8th Update Newsletter I made the effort to define the
relationship between the PFA and NCA. The fact that I defined this
relationship does not mean that I am upset with the PFA. I am very
thankful for the hard work the PFA contributes to NCA and I am happy
with their leadership.
What is at issue is that many continue to attempt to receive
information regarding the academy from the PFA. The PFA does their
best to provide answers to their members but they are not authorized
to speak on our behalf. We must clearly define our relationship and
the seperation that exists.
NCA is faced with legal questions regarding our use of the Bible and
possibly other religious materials. I must make it clear that a
parent's post on the PFA site regarding different religious
opportunites is not endorsed or communicated on behalf of the academy.
So far the discussions have been items that should be allowed no
matter what since they don't directly apply to the academy, but it is
important that everyone understand that you have the freedom to say
things that the academy does not. It is important that everyone
understand that a conversation initiated by a parent on the PFA site
does not have any connection to the academy.
I along with other leaders of the academy have been spending
considerable time reviewing the laws and codes that NCA operates
under. One of the primary items is that the academy can not endorse a
religion or give preference to one over the other. It is vitally
important that everyone understand that the PFA is not NCA and that
NCA is not the PFA. We do have a close relationship and I do
appreciate everything they do for us, but I must continue to ensure
that the legal seperation exists so that the parents freedom of
expression and the freedom to develop relationships is not hindered by
the legal status of the academy.
I know that your inquiries to our office have not always been answered
quickly as our staff are very busy trying to get everthing done and
have been doing a lot of training lately. I continue to point out that
I have answered every single email very quickly. If I can't or
shouldn't answer your question I refer you to the right person and
then monitor their response.
