April Timeline (includes answer regarding schedules)

This month our plan is to complete the following items:

Interview 20 - 30 teachers

Interview a part time office secretary

Finalize the calendar

Finalize the budget (if the state has approved the education budget)

Finalize floor plans for grammar building

Finalize financial policies

Finalize building lease

Approve and hire teachers submitted by the Headmaster

Finalize registration - we have about 40 spots we are still working to
fill (Each child is given 10 days to register. If they don't register
by that time we offer the spot to the next child in line.)

Administer Placement tests for 560 students

Just to let you know we have 1 full time employee, 1 part time
headmaster, hope to hire a part time secretary, and all of our board
members have full time jobs. We have been going non-stop and our
families miss us. If we sound a little cranky at times we need a
little extra measure of grace because we don't always have as much
patience as we might normally have. It is an enormous job to open a
school from scratch. Isaac has been working non-stop on it for several
years along with many of the other founders. There are times when we
just go from one meeting to the next and with our work requirments may
not see our families for days on end. This doesn't mean that we are
behind schedule or that we have major problems. We don't. Our
expectations of ourselves are very high and ensuring that what we
provide is of the highest caliber can at times take a lot longer then
normal.
