Hello NAMEN members,

See the below email from Tom Hornbrook, the MenEngage Communications Manager, about an exciting upcoming opportunity to take on the role of a Campaign Ambassador.

Please note the short turnaround: applications are due October 5th.

____

Dear MenEngage member,

I'm writing to let you know about an exciting new campaign to get more of our voices into public and media discussions on masculinity. As part of the campaign, we are looking for a small group of members to take on the role of Campaign Ambassadors in a tailored capacity-strengthening opportunity.

This opportunity is open to up to six members of MenEngage to learn how to effectively get into the heart of public narratives on masculinity, and to shape them.

This support, led by our strategic communications partner Sociopúblico, will include a dedicated 1.5-hour session for the selected 6 members, followed by individual email support to help you apply the campaign toolkit and methodology.

What is the opportunity?
We are looking for members who are ready to become strong public and media voices. The support will focus on helping you:
  • Identify key communications opportunities.
  • Shape your messaging to be more relatable and accessible to the public.
  • Effectively apply the campaign toolkit and methodology for public engagement.
  • Go deeper into the public conversation and shift narratives for gender justice.

Who are we looking for?
We will select six members based on the following criteria:
  • Motivation: You can clearly explain why you want to use this methodology, how it connects to your organization’s goals, and why you feel ready to jump in.
  • Buy-in: For organizational members, participation must have the endorsement of your organization’s leadership. This ensures the necessary backing to dedicate time and apply the methodology effectively.
  • Bandwidth: Your organization can dedicate 1-2 staff hours per week to this work over an 8-week period in October to November 2025, and you can attend the 1.5-hour group session.
  • Sharing your experience: You are able to work with the Global Secretariat on a voluntary basis to share your progress with others (e.g. in written or audiovisual format, and in particular presenting to your specific regional network).
  • Communication & representation: Preference will be given to members who can (or show potential to) communicate in authentic, accessible ways that resonate with wider audiences, reflect MenEngage values in public conversations, and contribute to a diverse representation across regions.

How to Apply
To apply, please submit a 2-minute video explaining your motivation for taking part in this capacity-strengthening opportunity. Upload your video with the form below:

(if you have issues using the form, please feel free to email me)

Deadline
The deadline to apply is: Sunday 5th October at 10pm Eastern Time.

We look forward to receiving your applications and working together to amplify our collective voice.

Best wishes,
Tom Hornbrook
