LAMY OUTLINES “COCKTAIL APPROACH” IN MOVING DOHA FORWARD
Director-General Pascal Lamy, in his report to the General Council on 4 May 2010, cited the following “ingredients” in the Doha Round process: meetings organized by the chairs of the different negotiating groups; preliminary contacts between trade ministers; and his own consultations with delegations on general issues. Members must start shaking the ingredients “before the ice melts,” he quipped.

LAMY EXPOSE L’“APPROCHE COCKTAIL” POUR FAIRE AVANCER LES NÉGOCIATIONS DE DOHA
Le Directeur général, Pascal Lamy, dans son rapport au Conseil général le 4 mai 2010, a mentionné les “ingrédients” suivants dans le processus du Cycle de Doha: des réunions organisées par les présidents des différents groupes de négociation; des contacts préliminaires entre les ministres du commerce; et ses propres consultations avec les délégations sur des questions d’ordre général.  Il faut que les Membres commencent à mélanger les ingrédients “avant que la glace ne fonde”, a-t-il dit.

LAMY DESCRIBE EL “ENFOQUE DEL COCTEL” PARA HACER AVANZAR LA RONDA DE DOHA
En el informe que presentó al Consejo General el 4 de mayo de 2010, el Director General, Pascal Lamy, mencionó los siguientes “ingredientes” para el proceso de la Ronda de Doha: reuniones organizadas por los Presidentes de los distintos grupos de negociación; contactos preliminares entre Ministros de comercio; y sus propias consultas con las delegaciones sobre temas generales. Los Miembros deben comenzar a mezclar los ingredientes “antes de que se derrita el hielo”, dijo.
