Please let me know how I could use/import/download a tool from JFrog artifact repository to my Maven project. I have not worked with artifactory before and Googling did not help much so any help on this would be much appreciated.
The pom file I used was defective and is causing build issues for dependent projects. When I look at the corresponding area of the artifactory repo where the jar and pom were deployed, what I see is more than a simple tree with a pom file and jar.
Let's say I have an internal library called superlibary.jar that is being stored in our local artifactory repo, and used by other in house applications ( also stored in artifactory). How can I use maven or the artifactory search feature to find all references to that jar?
Now, I have a requirement that we want to use maven project without settings.xml (By bypassing artifactory). As far as I know when we build project, by default it loads dependencies or libraries from Central Maven Repository or any public repository. As currently, I don't know how to skip settings.xml so I tried using with following settings.xml but it didn't work and gave me error "Could not resolve dependencies for project MyProject.core:bundle:0.0.2-SNAPSHOT: Could not find artifact com.adobe.aem:uber-jar:jar:apis:6.3.2.2 in com.springsource.repository.bundles.external".
The list of remote repositories from this property is prepended with a list of fabric-mavaen-proxy repositories that registered itself in ZooKeeper registry. So agent actually first asks fabric-maven-proxy (you can see its url in the error message: "Could not find artifact my.company:authorizationService:jar:4.0.2 in repo_1511216736 ( :8181/maven/download/)").
Not sure if anyone else is having the same issue. We have a pipeline that uploads maven artifacts into our JFrog artifactory using JFrogDev/artifactory-maven:0.3.3 pipe. Today all of our pipeline builds failed due to an error:
You can place the profile in the settings.xml file using the whelk-io/maven-settings-xml-action@v11 plugin, however, the different touchpoints of credentials and mappings (between the pom.xml, settings.xml and main.yml build file) just made it easier putting the profile in the pom.xml.
I am setting up liquibase project on my local workspace. However, I need to set up the user id and password in the settings.xml so I can get the dependencies from artifactory and start contributing. Is there anybody that can help?
Hi
I have not used maven settings file recently but I know it can be done. Are you using the maven project ? you should be able to set up settings.xml file for maven and configure liquibase plugin.
Hi, seems like issue is resolved after saving the settings with URL , even though testing the URL before saving it gave me Connection failed: Error 404.
After running maven build, Artifactory was able to fetch the artifacts from Nexus Remote Repo
Developers often face the situation that they need to add artifacts manually to a repository manager like the Maven Artifactory. In one of my last projects I also faced this situation. I had to manually add an artifact into a remote repository so that it would be shared with other developers in that project. I solved the task by using the build managing tool maven along with the repository manager maven artifactory.
The software is easily obtained from the JFrog site, with the downloaded package weighing in at a little over 95 MB in size. The Artifactory installation step is as simple as extracting the contents of the downloaded ZIP file to a folder of your choice. I extracted the downloaded archive to a folder named _artifactory and moved the folder to the root of the C:\ drive. Voila! The installation is complete.
For this example, I deployed a simple JAR file named maven-tutorial-1.0.1.jar, which was built from a Java project named Mavenspiration, hosted on my GitHub. After deployment of the maven-tutorial-1.0.1.jar file, a success message appears, along with a reference to the JAR file in the Artifactory Repository Browser.
