My search led me to an interesting find...there is no Thunderbolt controller present? On other laptops this can be found under Device Manager > System Devices, but nothing shows on this Lenovo. I installed the Intel Thunderbolt Control Center and it does not show any available Thunderbolt ports, whether plugged in or not. On my XPS 9700 it shows 4 open ports when nothing is connected, and when connected to a dock it shows the relevant info for that device. Also, there are no settings in BIOS that even mention Thunderbolt (again, most machines have something pertaining to Thunderbolt here).
Lenovo Support was not much help. They showed me a spec sheet that lists the laptop does have Thunderbolt 4, and said it should be on there. Well yes, it should, and hardware wise I'm sure is, but there is no controller or firmware/driver that I can locate to verify this. Also no drivers available on the Lenovo website or Vantage app specific to Thunderbolt.
