This is something that affects the profession, and may need some comments
from those interested (and having time at their hands to do so).The Ministry
of Law and Justice has invited comments on "Draft for 'Legal
Practitioners (Regulations and Maintenance of Standards in Professions,
Protecting the Interest of Clients and Promoting the Rule of Law) Act,
2010". According to letter inviting comments, the proposed Act seeks to
establish Legal Services Board on the lines of the Legal Services Board
in U.K. suiting the Indian situation.
A copy of the proposed Act is available on the website of Ministry of Law
and Justice at http://lawmin.nic.in/la/NALSA.doc .
