Guys, I've got the details of a dance instructor for the workshop next sem, will get a few estimates and call him soon. So, when should we book our dates ?(See forwarded message)

We need to book dates for : 

1. Salsa workshop (probably 3 days, preferably Friday, Saturday, Sunday)- probably Jan would be better since people will be free

2. One Dance Night and One Music Night in Jan (maybe one of them can be in Feb because the dance workshop will also be in Jan)

3. The tie dye t shirt workshop (Im thinking Feb for this?)

4. Karaoke I'm thinking in March, since its stress busting and doesnt need people to practice etc, so doesnt need to be in Feb/Jan

5. Carpe Diem, I dont know if we alone decide this, I think this will be decided along with Lit Deb SWC and Sports. But tentatively April 1st week as per tradition

6. Any other event in particular you guys want? I know this is sneaky of me but its my last sem so I might want to have another music night, possibly in April after carpe diem (When I was in first year our 5th year batch, who were very musical did this. Ruchika was the convenor then. They had one last music night after carpe diem, and since people had practiced during carpe diem time so much, they didnt need too much practice so work wasnt a concern)

Also we'll keep having informal jam sessions- set up the equipment and anyone can use it.

So tentative dates I'm putting forward for now: 

Dance Workshop- Jan 17, 18, 19 (Im guessing lets leave the first 2 weeks free, people will be bunking etc)

Dance Night- Jan 24

Music Night- Feb 7

Tie die workshop- Feb 14 (and Oo valentines day :P)

Karaoke Night- March 14

Music Night #2- April 11, or 12

This is important so please go through this and let me know if this is okay

And I'll look at the acad calendar and adjust anything that clashes with exams

The SBC has been given the option to block dates for student events in the next semester. This will be given due consideration when the academic calendar is prepared for the forthcoming semester.

I request you to kindly inform me about the tentative dates for the events that your committee plans to undertake during the course of the next semester. Please add your events to this Google Spreadsheet.

Please consult other members of your committee and enter the dates in the spreadsheet latest by (Thursday) November 7, 2013 | 11:59 p.m. If I do not receive the same by the deadline, please understand that your committee's events will not find space in the calendar and you'll then have to manage within the free slots that remain.

Also, should you wish to plan the events as per the State Holidays, kindly refer to the list here.

Yes, it sounds good. Starting with a dance night is good. Maybe this time we can use the lights the mess people had? Or would that be weird.. I'm cool with second music night.

Anyway, I am cool with the calender, but I think we can have more karaoke nights too. People are most excited about them.
