EDIT: Turns out my phone has a native screen recorder I was not previously aware of until a couple of redditors suggested using it. That being said, I also checked out AZ recorder and while it does suit my purposes, it also requires permissions to use the app that might seem a bit invasive to some people's privacy. So I learned something new and hopefully this post can help others down the line.
Streaming service will block the recording of your screen while streaming a movie or show because it is against the terms of service when using these streaming services. While the screen recording will take place, the actual show or movie will only show a blacked out screen (captions should still show up, however).
Typically the best way to share a screen recording is via email. You can also message the file to someone, but because they are often large files email is typically best. With that in mind, sometimes these video files are too big to email. In the case of Gmail, however, the file will be uploaded to Google and a link will be inserted into the email for the recipient to later download. We have more details in our How to Send a Video Through Email article.
Important: You'll need to be running Android 11 or newer to use the screen recorder. If you can't or don't want to use Android 11, skip to the section on recording with third-party apps.
2. The Screen Recorder icon probably won't be here if this is your first time using it, so tap the Customize icon (shaped like a pencil) and then drag the Screen Recorder icon from the bottom of the screen to the top, so it appears in the Quick Settings. Then tap the arrow to exit.
4. Choose if you want to record audio with your screen recording and if you want to show where you touch the screen. To turn either of these settings on, swipe the buttons to the right.
3. At the bottom of the screen, drag the bar on the left of the video timeline toward the right. This trims away the start of the video. Find the spot you want the video to begin, and then repeat that process for the bar on the right side to shorten the end of the video.
When you're ready to stop recording, swipe down from the top edge of the screen to open the notifications menu. From here, you can pause or stop the recording, or tap the pencil icon to draw on the video.
I connect my phone to Android Studio and code. I want to record my phone screen. I saw this but that button is disabled in my Android Studio. I can capture screens but can't record. Can someone help me with this?
Maybe your device does not support the screen recorder, there are many devices which does not support screen recorder thus this is device issue. If you want to record your app screen then simply run the app on android emulator or on genymotion and start your desktop screen recorder and adjust the desktop screen to fit emulator. There are many screen recorder for PC but i prefer cam studio 8.Thanks
In newer versions of Android Studio it requires an external Android phone to record screen from preferably with a resolution of at least 720p. Since the internal runs on the virtual memory it can't be recorded and is therefore disabled as it can't both record and run emulator at same time. I'm running Android Studio 2.3.2 which is the latest and the one I experienced this on. But when I closed the emulator and connected my HTC One M9 it automatically enabled recording button to record the phone instead of the emulated device.

On Windows I suggest using the Fraps generic screen capture tool as an alternative. It's an awesome tool with too many years of history to count. I'm not affiliated with them, I just used it "back in the day" when I was gaming a lot. On the Movies tab add a Video Capture Hotkey and use that to start/stop the recording. The FPS counter will be red while recording.
Screen recorder is a new feature to allow you to make a screen recording video easily without having to download any external applications. You can start screen recording by tapping the icon in your Quick panel. After a 3 second countdown, your recording will start.
