Welcometo this week VNTS Review. For the title, since we have Nekonyan announced their first OELVN license (Cerulean Day) and re-released Onikiss back on last Wednesday, I combined both title so we have 'Cerulean Kiss' as the title. For this week, well, let's just be blunt that this week is more or less a plain one with no interesting announcement (Besides Tsukihime Remake 1 full translation patch exact release date announcement). As for the release, well at least Koiyasumi is a nice short single heroine VN with good graphic, so at least it should be good if you're in mood to play something light. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week.

Sekai did have several updates, and as for the updates we have Sheol engine work is 60% done, Inouto no Seiiki is at 90% in QA, and Nie no Hakoniwa is at 30% edited. JAST did announce the exact release date for Onigokko FD, and it'll be on 23rd later. Cherry Kiss announce yet another nukige with the title Mommy Sensei: Horny Homework with them will release it on 20th later, and I can always say that they're very creative when it come to translate the premise. A company did pick Club Suicide, and from what I see it's an otome VN with the female MC see the announcement in regard of the club who had the goal to do suicide with the female MC unwittingly took a look of it which cause her to be dragged into the club.

Turned out that Craftwork had another surprise in regard of their new VN Geminism in which it's already surprising enough that they manage to develop a VN after Sayooshi release back in 2001, because actually they're planned to have Geminism simultaneous English release on August 25th later. I don't know though if Craftwork planned to release this by themselves or asking another party (Maybe Shiravune) for help. For Geminism itself, it has a female twin sisters fought each other for an unknown reasons with two mysterious men watch over the twin fight. Other than that, apparently this might be another VN with disturbing contents, which shouldn't be surprise if we know Sayooshi.

Like I mention beforehand, we have an announcement for Tsukihime Remake 1 full translation patch exact release date with said date will be on 17th later (Obviously it mean that Ciel's route are both fully edited and finalized), so if you're understandably been waiting for the full translation patch and have Switch than you can note the date. Personally speaking I probably will not playing this, because it's quite bothersome to set Switch emulator on my laptop back when I tried Mahoyo and the result is not worth of the effort. For Koiyasumi itself, it's about the MC who is an university student coming back to his hometown and reunited with his female childhood friend, and of course they'll have a lot of sweet moment as the couple. Go get the patch if you've been waiting for Koiyasumi, and have fun.

In regard of Cerulean Day, from what I see it's a VN about an island that become isolated from the outside world because the government decided to make a very tightly controlled internet network as the result of the lethal biological attack that happen in the past, which in exchange make the island is like the world before the internet introduced. I don't know if the VN can be as popular as DDLC or Katawa Shoujo or as well received as Sekimeiya, but at least I can say that the graphic is quite nice looking. For a bit of history, this VN is from Swedian creator with them making the Kickstarter back in 2019, and obviously I don't know about this until Nekonyan announced it. Personally speaking I would prefer Nekonyan to just put the focus on translating VNs, although if they want to try to publish OELVN then so be it (I just hope that they didn't try to create as much as OELVN as possible like Sekai).

The presence of kissing spines is not necessarily cause for concern, but it can be a predisposing factor for back pain. Thoroughbreds and performance horses are the most commonly diagnosed cases. Kissing spines are likely acquired. They can be the result of a variety of factors, including poor saddle fit and improper training that allows the horse to carry itself with its head up, back hollow, and not engaging the muscles in its core. Genetic factors are possible, but none have been identified to date.

Many horses with mild kissing spines do not exhibit any clinical signs. For those that do, the signs can be highly variable and may include vague or overt lameness and overall poor performance. Affected horses can exhibit changes in behavior such as hypersensitivity to brushing, girthiness, bucking, rearing, head tossing, kicking out, hollowing the back, resisting the bit, trouble with transitions, cross-cantering, and refusing or rushing fences. Their backs are often sore to the touch.

A diagnosis can be challenging as it can be difficult to differentiate some of the clinical signs of kissing spines from behavioral or training issues, or medical conditions that are not related, or secondary, to the back. Radiographs (X-rays) are commonly used to diagnose kissing spines. However, it is important to perform a thorough clinical examination and not just rely on X-ray analysis. Thermography, which uses an infrared camera to detect heat patterns, has been shown to be informative in some cases. Bone scans (nuclear scintigraphy) and ultrasound may also be used to provide diagnostic information. Referral to a specialist may be warranted for an accurate diagnosis.

Treatment for kissing spines begins with making the horse more comfortable. This may be achieved through pain reduction, muscle relaxation, and exercises to stretch and strengthen back and abdominal muscles, stabilize posture, and improve mobility. Medical treatments may include shockwave therapy of the affected vertebrae and surrounding muscles, injections of anti-inflammatories in the region of the kissing spines (mesotherapy), and corticosteroid injections in the spaces between the vertebrae.

Physical therapy may include daily exercises that encourage the horse to move freely in a relaxed frame and may progress to poles and cavaletti once the horse is willing to stretch. A Pessoa Lunging System may be used to encourage the horse to engage its core muscles. Exercise on an aqua treadmill may also be recommended. An assessment of saddle fit should also be performed and any necessary adjustments made to alleviate pressure points on the back. Chiropractic and acupuncture therapies, as well as therapeutic ultrasound, may also be utilized.

Surgical treatment is also an option in severe cases. One approach is to remove about half (3 inches) of the bone at the top of each of the dorsal spinous processes. This type of surgery is highly invasive and involves long recovery times. Alternatively, endoscopy may be used to remove selected dorsal spinous processes and rejoin the ligaments between the processes. Another option is to perform an interspinous ligament desmotomy (ISLD) in which the interspinous ligament(s) is cut to relieve tension on the ligament. This can be performed in a standing, sedated horse. Although surgical intervention can produce positive results, these approaches can also destabilize the back and can lead to future lameness.

The presence of kissing spines is not necessarily a cause for concern, but it may be considered as a predisposing factor for back pain. The majority of affected horses that exhibit clinical signs are able to return to work with medical or surgical treatment and physical therapy. Sustained results often necessitate a multifaceted approach, which requires time and commitment. The prognosis is poorer for young horses (5 years of age or younger), horses with five or more vertebrae involved, and for cases in which kissing spines are secondary to other spinal issues.

The exact cause of kissing spines is unknown but is thought to be related to conformation and development. It is important to treat potential underlying issues, such as other causes of lameness or improper saddle fit, first, as these may prevent horses from using their backs properly.

This condition is caused by multiple factors including conformation issues, genetic predispositions, poor posture, improper conditioning, and training under saddle at a very young age.

Horses with kissing spine do not always develop symptoms, but many horses with this condition experience back pain. Afflicted horses may exhibit extreme back tightness, bucking, pain on palpation and an inability to stretch and raise the back while under saddle.

Most horse owners dread having their horse diagnosed with kissing spine. For a long time, it was thought that horses with symptomatic kissing spine could no longer be ridden and had to be retired.

However, surgical advances and modern rehabilitation techniques give new hope to owners of horses with kissing spine. There are many therapies available to keep your horse comfortable and to re-establish mobility.

Have your veterinarian examine your horse if you think they are experiencing back pain. If left untreated, horses with kissing spine can act out under saddle, putting themselves and their riders at risk.

This condition is diagnosed by a veterinarian upon radiographic detection of overriding dorsal spinous processes (ORDSP). Kissing spine diagnosis has increased significantly in recent years due to the increased use of digital radiographs (x-rays). [2]

Your veterinarian will perform x-rays along the spine to determine whether the vertebrae in the spine are too close or touching. When examining an x-ray of the back, veterinarians look for reductions in the space between dorsal spinous processes and changes to the boney areas.

Ultrasound imaging can also be used to assist with diagnosis. It can be combined with the information in the x-rays to give information of changes the dorsal spinous process surface, supraspinous ligament damage, multifidus muscle changes and facet joint involvement.
