science doing things like computer networking and forensic analysis.
However interaction with upstream and linux development seems limited.
Similarly, linux for desktop general use also seems not widely used.
Have raised an issue to document schools, universities and polytechnics
with courses that use GNU/Linux and FOSS software in their courses:

Can you specify which students in particular? Linux can also be used in
the Arts (typesetting, artwork, music creation etc.) and social sciences
(data analysis is one area).

As a member yes. We do not have a formal organiser selection and
renewal process. My understanding is a member is anyone subscribed to
this list. This is something that would also be good to create. It does
not need to be very heavyweight.
