The domain lug.or.ke is up for renewal this month. Would like to use
shared hosting to enable easy creation of subdomains, dynamic websites,
self hosted email, group specific email lists for other lug groups
within Kenya. Am exploring use of:
i) Webmin - https://webmin.com/
ii) ISPConfig - https://www.ispconfig.org/
FOSS alternatives to CPanel

Would there be interest in this? If so, help with this would be
appreciated, for example:
a) Being a co-administrator
b) Helping with server and domain costs

In case you want configure your own server, I can assist with installation and configuration of Linux mail server - Slackware (^_^) as well as dovecot configuration with ssl and

virtual hosting using mariadb or mysql database backend with add on of roundcube to view your mails online :)

Additional configurations such as bind DNS, apache with ssl & virtual hosting and dehydrate ssl update/management engine as well as firewalling also included :)

Would there be interest in using ISPConfig or Webmin on top of
Slackware? Am happy to port the software. They put a web interface over
bind DNS, apache/ngnix, dovecot and roundcube so that someone who is
managing a web domain can configure these for their domain. Having two
admins is helpful.

Domain has been renewed. Are there any services people want on the
server? Am interested in XMPP. Suggestions for other FOSS software are
welcome, e.g. mailing lists, static site hosting, version control
hosting etc.

A number of people have expressed interest in a LUG server. Would like to discuss this on Saturday 8 February. Can do so virtually, hybrid or in person in Nairobi, if these do not work, asynchronous is also ok. Please respond to this thread if willing to help out, and preferred discussion option.
