The above is what passes for scholarship among some segments of Nigerians; they corrupt the tenets of education in the same way that they have corrupted everything else in Nigeria. Just to advance a falsehood that puts Yoroba atop anyone else in the imagination of rabid Yoroba tribalists, some Yoroba scholar pulled an abject illiteracy in the above quote?
- Greek Historian, Herodotus, the father of History who lived from 4824 BC until 424 BC said about Ife: ” According to history there were five ancient cities in Africa between 3000 and 1000 BC of which one was Ife”.
First, a properly educated person quoting Herodotus must indicate what work of Herodotus that he/she is quoting, else paraphrase him and mention the work without proper citation. Second, Africa, (the word) didn't exist in Herodotus' life time, so there is no way that he uttered the idiocy quoted above.
Frankly, I want to break up Nigeria; let folks go their separate ways, even if it means Igbos losing their property in current Nigeria (we will rebuild it in a new country). I am embarrassed for people who lie just to assert tribal supremacy over others. Assuming Ife is the oldest kingdom in Nigeria, so what, of value has that been to Yoroba people? Nowa is dead, JUI is dead, so now every quack Yoroba "scholar" is coming out of nowhere to be asserting anything over Bini.
Oh my gosh, I wish Nigeria would break up today; in 10 years we would know who is really Nigeria's problem.

You are quick to label others as tribalist whereas you are one of the most Igbo irredentist around here. Certainly, Oke Agwo Oshumili of Orlu does not deny being a tribalist; he throws his tribalism around everyday, he wears it as a badge of honor. But he is not a hypocrite like you.
The name of the author of the article you referenced which you assumed is Yoruba actually sounded like Edo name to me. I thought you attended the University of Benin.
