I've always supported the view that all elections in Nigeria, especially local governments, should be conducted by INEC. State independent election bodies are a farce under the state governors.

I told you at the time when Wike was planning what he did, but you refused to criticize him, because you were too gullible and because Wike was your home boy that you can't criticize. One more, let me refresh your memory and tell you what Wike did and how Tinubu won Rivers State. When Wike was governor, he hired 5,000 people he called aides when the election was coming. He put those 5,000 people on government pay roll with special allowances for the purpose of the election and they were not originally meant for Tinubu's election. They were meant for his own election, until Atiku destroyed his plan for president. 

The 5,000 people he hired with Rivers State people's money are what he called his structure which Fubara eventually uprooted and which contributed to his clash with Fubara.

Wike mobilized the 5,000 people he hired to go to every ward in Rivers State to mobilize eligible Rivers voters to come out and vote for Tinubu and Fubara. They were ferried to their respective polling units to vote for both Tinubu and Fubara and both of them won the Rivers State election.  At the time Wike and Fubara were like God Father and God Son, before enmity erupted between them. But I criticized him at the time, because he used government money to mobilize those people. He didn't bribe any one of the voters. He used the state machinery to mobile them and I alerted you in these forums at the time of what Wike was planning to do, but you were too scared to criticize him.

Fubara eventually dismantled the structure he created during their clash. That's why he told Fubara he would never forgive him for destroying his so called structure. In Rivers State.

Unfortunately, you pretended not to know, because you were too scared to criticize Wike at the time.

Whilst I cannot comment of the alleged 5,000 people hire by Wike for not being privy to it, I can authoritatively tell you, as a bona fide son of Rivers State, that Wike, as opposed to relying on any vote cast, simply manipulated, doctored and even fabricated nonexistent elec figures in Rivers State (height of abuse of power) and submitted whatever satisfied his whims and caprices to the INEC and,that was declared. 

In that election of 2022/23, Wike was more than a dictatorial king in Rivers State. Whatever he said was LAW in its absoluteness. You can imagine, he asked Tinubu and his APC team not to waste their time to campaign in Rivers State as his (Tinubu's) win in Rivers State was a fait accompli through the instrumentality of Wike's machinations. And that's what happened. Ditto the case of Governor Siminalayi Fubara,

To the glory of God, it's no longer business as usual for him today. He has totally lost it in the apparent present situation of a point of no returns. Nigerians have now risen to the occasion!! Your dumb David Mark jumped the gun again after the Court of Appeal dismissed his case and asked him to wait for the lower court's decision. Now the same case will be heard on the same day April 14, by both Supreme Court and Federal High Court. It's likely the Federal High Court will yield to the Supreme Court to avoid contradictory judgments on the case on April 14. David Mark and his gang already knows that they are guilty as charged and resulted to circumvent the lower court’s possible ruling against them. That's why they took the case to the Supreme Court. It's likely the Supreme Court will send the case back to the High Court for judgment or take the case up, which might further delay the coupists.

A faction of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Adamawa State has suspended former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Chairman of the ADC faction in the state, Raji Sulaiman Zumo, announced the suspension on Monday.

Also suspended is the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal.

POST recalls that a faction of the ADC led by Nafiu Bala Gombe is laying claim to the position of national chairman of the party.

The development prompted the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to derecognize the leadership of the ADC under former Senate President.

‘Opportunistic, inconsistent politician’  —  Onanuga fires Obi over hint about ADC exit

Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga has launched a stinging attack on former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, describing him as the most opportunistic and inconsistent politician in Nigeria’s history.

Onanuga’s comment came after Obi hinted in a television interview that he could leave the African Democratic Congress if the party’s internal processes were compromised.

Reacting on X after Obi’s appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday, Onanuga wrote: “Peter Obi, the peripatetic, opportunistic and inconsistent politician ever to operate in Nigeria hints that he may leave the ADC, the way he left APGA, PDP and Labour. Listen to him.”

In the interview that triggered Onanuga’s reaction, Obi defended his history of party defections, arguing that each exit was driven by principle rather than opportunism, and made clear he was prepared to move again if necessary.

“I don’t have long time in politics, if I have to move twenty times, I will do it. I cannot be talking about change, I cannot be talking about something new, you cannot use the process of yesterday to build tomorrow,” he said.

An Abuja Federal High Court on Tuesday ordered all parties in a suit bordering on the leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to maintain status quo pending the determination of the case.

At the heart of the disagreement is the role of a caretaker or interim national working committee, which some party stakeholders accuse of overstepping its constitutional powers.

The plaintiffs contend that, under the party’s constitution and the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the tenure of state executive committees subsists until valid congresses are conducted, and that any attempt to bypass them undermines internal party democracy.

In his ruling, Justice Abdulmalik directed all parties to file their relevant processes, adding that pending applications would be heard alongside the substantive suit.

The judge further ordered that all parties should refrain from taking any steps that could render the court proceedings nugatory.

He also directed that hearing notices be served on the affected defendants ahead of the next sitting.

The matter was subsequently adjourned to April 23 for a definite hearing.

Meanwhile, the Mark-led ADC leadership on Tuesday went ahead with its decision to hold the party’s national convention in Abuja.

But the exercise has been frustrated by inability to get a venue.
