BREAKING: APC Governors’ Forum Splits As Uzodimma, Abiodun Lead Rival Camps Ahead Of 2027

A major crisis has reportedly hit the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), the body of APC governors, as rival factions emerge within the group ahead of the 2027 elections.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has insisted that he remains the chairman of the forum alongside Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani as deputy chairman.
However, another powerful camp within the forum is now backing Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who are reportedly leading a separate faction.
The development has raised fresh concerns about growing division within the ruling APC as political calculations for 2027 continue to intensify.
Party sources say tensions have been building over leadership control and strategic positioning, although no official statement has fully explained the reason behind the split.

He has loads of problems awaiting him from his incompetence and ineptitude of his failed presidency full of economic turmoils and security doom. He is the cause of the current insecurity in Nigeria and that will plague his plot to challenge Tinubu. 

He hasn't learned anything yet. He should stay in his village and better not come back to politics. Nigerians haven't forgotten his incompetence and corruption during his 4 to 6 years as president of Nigeria and he will be disgraced back to his Otuoke village with his planned Badluck Movement. He is too gullible. He still has a case against him in court pending judgment tomorrow Monday and people pushing him to contest again are pushing him into a political pit he will not come out of. Are you protecting yourselves from Hantavirus yet? If you haven't started, you better start right now. The virus is spreading like wide fire and don't believe whatever the CDC or WHO says. They don't know much about the virus, especially the new strain, just like they did with Covid in the early days of Covid 2019/20 when both organizations were just speculating and didn't know what they were doing, until it became a pandemic and killed millions around the world, and there is no cure for Hantavirus. I was the only soul that got the issue with Covid right at the time, when thousands of scientists and doctors in the US and around the world all got it wrong and I predicted its trajectory and predicted it's not going to go away any time soon. It's here to stay and it has been ever since.

While Hantavirus is not Covid, it could become a pandemic like Covid if governments and health organizations around the world don't move fast to contain it. At the moment they're not moving fast like they should as people are testing positive for it.

Wear your masks and gloves too. You can contact, it if you inhale the aerosol from the air or touch the surface that anyone who contracted it touched.

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, national chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), says the party rejected demands by Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for an automatic joint presidential ticket.

Baba-Ahmed spoke during an interview on a Hausa political programme on DITV Kaduna.

He said initial discussions on a possible alliance advanced to the point of setting up a joint committee before collapsing over disagreements on entry terms.

According to Baba-Ahmed, Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), and Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano, expressed desires to join the PRP on the condition that they would automatically receive the party’s presidential ticket.

“We told them no, this is PRP; we do not practise that kind of politics,” the PRP chairman said.

He insisted that both politicians must first formally join the party and subject themselves to its internal democratic processes like any other aspirant.

“I told them: first come into the party. After joining, you can then tell me, I am Obi and I want to run for president,’ and ‘I am Kwankwaso and I want to be his running mate,” Baba-Ahmed said.

“But for you to come even before a decision is made and ask us to guarantee you the ticket without opposition… why fear competition?”

He said the party’s leadership acknowledged the stature and followership of both men, saying, “if anyone entered a room and saw Obi and Kwankwaso, they would think strong contenders had arrived.”

However, he said the party refused to bend its constitution or democratic norms to accommodate them.

Baba-Ahmed said the two politicians’ camps also demanded a significant share of party positions in exchange for the supporters they would bring in, a request, he noted, could be discussed only after they formally joined the party.

Former spokesperson of the Labour Party presidential campaign, Datti Baba Ahmed, has explained why prominent politicians such as Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso did not join the Peoples Redemption Party.

Speaking on the development, Baba Ahmed said the PRP, despite its historical ideology and structure, was not the political platform that aligned with the current ambitions and political strategies of the two leading figures.

According to him, “both Obi and Kwankwaso already had established political movements and strong support bases under their respective platforms, making a switch to PRP unnecessary and politically unrealistic at the time”.

He noted that Nigerian politics is now driven more by coalition strength and existing party structures than ideological sentiment alone, adding that major actors often prefer to consolidate influence within already functional platforms rather than migrate to smaller parties.

The last time I checked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has no competitor in APC for party primaries. He has arbitrarily barred party primaries in his party and, hiding under the gimmick of consensus, has imposed himself on the party as the only candidate to fly the flag of that party and context the presidential position for his party at the end of the day. 

He has even taken a step further to select, appoint and impose those who will fly the party flags at the state level for governorship positions. This is notwithstanding his dogged, but fruitless efforts to prevent opposition parties from contesting the upcoming presidential election through party-disorganisations and wanton crises.

You can't claim not to be privy to all these unacceptable anomalies of President Tnubu in your party, yet, you look the other way. Indeed you consider it plausible and only see the legitimate politics of CONSENSUS playing out in other parties, especially as it effects Peter Obi as superfluous.

You know what? The Holy Bible calls and advises people playing your role as follows: "Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye." - Matthew 7:5 NLT.

For your ignorance, Osita Stanley from Edo State is Tinubu's challenger inside APC. Tinubu himself invited challengers, because he is a Democrat, unlike your hijacker leader who tells other parties he wants to defect to that he doesn't like challengers, because he doesn’t believe in Democracy and knows he would lose to challengers, because he lacks competence and leadership skills.
