Update on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on 11th January, 2026
Good day, lovers of freedom.
I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in Sokoto today 11th January, 2026, despite the challenges surrounding his appeal, to check on his well being and to discuss with him the materials to be used in preparing and filing his appeal.
The last judgment of the court is seriously affecting Nnamdi Kanu’s appeal. The judgment barred him from having any electronic device, and this is a major challenge for someone who is preparing his appeal by himself. He needs access to a laptop and a printer, but this has been denied in Sokoto prison, making it very difficult for him to prepare and file a successful appeal on time.
This is unjust and unfair. It is like removing a bird’s wings and asking it to fly.
All consultants and sympathetic legal practitioners have made their various legal contributions to support the appeal process. It is now left for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to go through these contributions, put them together, and file his appeal.
However, he cannot do this effectively because of this challenge.
I gave him the hard copies of these contributions, but he is still constrained by the lack of access to the necessary tools and complaining seriously about that.
This is against the principle of fair hearing, and we are considering challenging this situation again in court.
This is the update I felt I should share with all lovers of freedom all over the world.
Thank you and God bless you all.
