My Pet Labrador Pearl Khan

Dear All, 

Thank you for all your support in past. 

Post the treatment for tick fever and then removal of her ovaries (which we found during Tick fever treatment) due to cysts 2 weeks back, I have a new issue.

 

I find 2 or three Lumps on Pearl's chest and on the back adjacent to the spine. They are fleshy lumps the size of a small palm. They are soft. 

Upon pressing these lumps, I get no reaction from Pearl. I am wondering if this has anything to do with the surgery performed by Chariar....??? 

I need a suggestion, Should i take her to Dr. Prachi which is in MHADA of should i take her to Dr. Dr Deepa Katyal . 

Some one said she also has a clinic in Kailash Complex. 

Travelling to Thane is a big issue.   

Your suggestions are awaited.

I spoke with Dr. Cheriar middle of the night. A crocin was prescribed and she was under his treatment the entire day . 

Princess Pearl khan is better, fever has subsided. 

She is under strong medication and is being observed. Her platelet count came down to 80,000. 

She is improving. I with my family were with her day and night all worried and worked up. 

Hope she recovers

I just hope this is not a result of a fudged surgery performed by Dr. Chariar. 

It would be prudent to mention that we made several trips and the monies he charged were not small.    

Mrs. Khan spoke to Prachi, she is not available, and with all due respect the advisory given is not meaningful. :-(

Mr.Jahangir, the soft lumps you mention sound like fat globules which develop around the body due to ageing. These are harmless unless they catch infection for some reason or the other. You may however get it checked at Dr.Prachi's clinic at Mhada which is nearest to confirm the same.

Yes, these are soft Fleshy lumps, But Under the skin. Chances of an infection are remote as they are not exposed. 

There was one 2 days back, this morning they are three. 

Dr. Prachi is not in clinic today. I would take her to Doctor Umesh Karkare this evening.

These are common occurences in dogs. I have more than 10years experience in having dogs. I suggest go to any nearby vet ,maybe the vet ahead of hiranandni hospital as its not a thing to worry or maybe you can wait for Dr.Prachi till tomorrow.

Hi Mr. khan,

Just read these email exchanges, hope Pearl is on the mend. Low dose Prednisolone is prescribed to improve the platelet counts, usually tapered off after a couple of weeks. 

Arnav is right about the lumps. They are probably fatty lumps, and very common in labradors. Do get them checked nevertheless.

Greetings ! 

Have not seen you for such a long time. Have you moved out of Nahar ? 

How is little Cocoa..... give her my love . 

I took Pearl to the Happy Tails clinic ( Umesh Karkare). Met with a young Vet. 

She informed us that the Lumps are Hematoma (Blood Lumps) accumulated below the skin. 

She did drain out the two lumps. She has prescribed Homeopathy medicines. 

Let us see how the treatment goes. 

She also informed us not to worry. 

Pray for Pearl, Hope she gets well soon and thank you all for all your good wishes and support

Sorry for the delayed response. I just returned from LEH, I am working on a Boutique Hotel Project there.  

The weather was treacherous, with day temperatures going down to -7 (minus) while the sun is up.  

This occurrence of Hematoma ( blood filled lumps) I was told, is nothing to worry. They could occur due to the body scraping with hard surfaces or edges, like beds or furniture etc.  

I am giving her Homeopathy treatment as of now, she seems fine.

Pearl too says HI To Cocoa
