Dear Santosh
I give below the issue raised by one of the members.
Dear all,

Today morning, when my wife was out for her jog in our society’s podium, she saw a flat owner walking with his dog. The dog pooped in the children’s play area, while the owner was watching calmly. My wife argued with the owner, who saw nothing wrong in what he did. Later, even the security guard came over to my wife and thanked her, saying that if we complain, the dog lovers threaten to send us to jail. I have a few requests for our society:

1. I know we have put up boards asking for owners to scoop up the pets’ poop. Can we reinforce such messages?
2. Not just the pet dogs, but even the stray dogs in our society are a menace, not just due to their poops, especially in the parking area, but they also bark wildly. There have been a few instances of people being bitten as well. I know the society / federation has put up collars around the dogs, but that is of no use.

I am a dog lover myself and mean no harm to them. Let us just ensure we are all vigilant and respect rules. After all, our children’s health is also at risk here.

For the stray dogs, can we not request BMC or NGOs to take away the dogs?

Comments and thoughts from all welcome.

Thank you,
Mihir.

Dear Santosh
PET owners group is aware of these issues. I understand they have issued list of good practices to pet owners. But some do not bother to follow. May I request you to alert Pet owners once again.

Dear Mihir
BMC will not take the stray dogs. There is a court order on this. There are some in the complex who take care of strays. If I meet any of them, I will remind them
