Hello,

First of all, thanks for an excellent product. :)

It suits my needs except for one thing.
I am exporting the data from Nagios into a Splunk server and I would like to use JSON.
But the latest NagRestConf installs a Nagios version that is not supporting JSON so instead of installing a Nagios plugin, I am wondering if anyone has done a successfull
upgrade to 4.1.1 or older?

If so, any input would be appreciated :)

Cheers

Kristian

Hi Kristian,
I'm running nagios-4.0.8 at work on Centos 6 from epel testing. If you use Centos 7 and follow the instructions on the Nagrestconf Web Site then you'll end up with Nagios 4.x.x. Those instructions were created taking into account that Nagios 4 is the default for Centos 7 (with EPEL).

So, if you're using Centos 6 then use the EPEL testing repo, Centos 7 will be Nagios 4, and for anything else install Nagrestconf as normal then upgrade to Nagios 4 then fix any Nagios configuration issues.

Nagios 4 and Nagrestconf have been working fine for me for many months now - and I just checked the JSON interface, and that works too :)

Cheers!
Mark

Thanks for the reply Mark :)

I have tried the upgrade scenario that is stated on the Nagios website for Ubuntu servers but I'm sadly getting nowhere.
I'll try again to upgrade later this week to see if I can get past the errors and the re-config :)

I have tried several times to upgrade but have failed on all of them, so I'll download your CentOs7 pack for test now.

Will be good to know how you get on with that, good luck!

Thanks :)
I've installed one server with CentOS7 NagRestConf and that is running flawlessly.
The JSON output is working as expected.

Thanks again for a great solution!

Excellent! Thanks for the update - I can update the Downloads section because of it.
