Thispage contains every known Red Dead Redemption cheat code, exploit and secret. These codes and exploits work on all versions of the game, including the backwards compatible version on Xbox One.

There are several types of cheats available in RDR - some can be entered in the Cheat Menu, while some are automatially unlocked from the beginning of the game. There are also multiplayer exploits that can be performed in the online mode.

Cheat codes are entered and activated by navigating to the Cheats tab of the Options menu in the pause screen. To activate a cheat, toggle it to "On" in the Cheats menu - Be aware, you'll no longer be able to unlock achievements until you restart a cheat-free play session from the main menu.

First, join a Public Session of RDR's multiplayer. If you want to avoid being killed by other players while attempting this exploit, go a step further and jump into a "Friendly Free-Roam" session.

Provided there aren't other players in the area, you should teleport into the area and immediately recieve a completion notice for the Walton Gang hideout. This will earn you 400 experience points - press the Replay button to re-load the area, which will once again bounce you to a completion screen and another free 400 XP.

There are several other cheats available after starting the game. Initially, these were unlocked by linking a gamertag or PSN ID with a Rockstar Social Club account, but the cheats were eventually released in a content patch to all players in 2014.

To add new cheats, go to the Options menu and select the "Cheats" option. Then press "Triangle" (PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4), "Y" (Xbox 360) or "X" (Nintendo Switch) and type in the cheat phrase (from our handy table below!) Once activated, players cannot obtain Achievements/Trophies even if the cheats are turned off afterwards and will have to load a previous save to do so once more.

Some cheats can also be found in the bottom corner of in-game Newspapers or written on the walls of certain structures. Other cheats become available after successfully linking a Xbox Live or PSN account with the Rockstar Social Club (see below).

Several additional cheats are unlocked and added to the list by creating an account on the Rockstar Games Social Club and linking it with a Xbox Live Gamer Tag/PSN account. The following cheats are not added via a code; instead the player has to "Claim" those cheats from the website which will be automatically activated on the console. (An internet connection will be needed.)

Back in the day, cheat codes could be found in all kinds of games, allowing players to have a little extra fun or make life easier for themselves. However, with the rise of online multiplayer games and the introduction of Trophies and Achievements, cheats have become a lot less prevalent in modern games. Of course, Red Dead Redemption is not a modern game.

Like many of the other great games from Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption has plenty of cheats. Unfortunately, using them prevents players from unlocking Trophies and Achievements and disables autosaving, meaning that players can't gain any real advantage from them. However, that doesn't mean that they can't still be useful for having fun and causing a little chaos.

There are 21 unlockable RDR1 cheats, each of which requires players to enter a special code via the Cheats menu. To do so, players will need to navigate to the Cheats menu via the Options menu and then press Triangle (PlayStation), Y (Xbox), or X (Switch) to bring up the on-screen keyboard. They'll then need to type in the code, being sure to make note of any punctuation such as commas, apostrophes, or exclamation points, as failing to include these will lead to the code being invalid.

After entering a cheat code for the first time it will be automatically added to the list of RDR 1 cheats, ensuring that players won't need to enter it again in the future. Once unlocked, players will be able to toggle a cheat on and off using the option on the right.

In addition to the 21 unlockable Red Dead Redemption cheat codes listed above, players will also have access to 18 other cheats by default. These were originally tied to the Rockstar Social Club service, but as that's no longer available, they'll be unlocked automatically as soon as players boot up the game, allowing them to cause a little carnage right from the get-go.

To enter cheats into Red Dead Redemption, pause the game, then access Options then Cheats. Here, any cheats that have been already unlocked will be available to toggle on and off, meaning you only have to enter each cheat once to access it whenever you like.

As well as cheats that you can enter manually, there's also a selection exclusive to the Rockstar Social Club service. However, since the servers have turned offline, every Social Club cheat - even those tied to challenges - are automatically unlocked when you connect online, allowing you to spwan donkeys and make citizens trigger happy from the get go.

Remember that entering cheats will disable the ability to unlock Achievements or Trophies for the duration of that playthrough (make sure you have an old save handy) and that these cheats work with the base game, expansion Undead Nightmare and the Game of the Year Edition.

Maybe ask them? I don't know. Perhaps it's simply not that popular of a request? Maybe it's simply not high on the priority list? Also, we don't know all of the details of what will be included in the 2/26 update nor do we know what other features will be added down the line. We are still in the early stages of this beta.

Almost all games that allow cheat codes do not let you save with them because they can corrupt the save file. There is more lingo to it than this but I am no expert. Just ask a gaming dev, they will explain it for you.

If i bought the game, id just wanna experience it lkke the first game. And in this case its not about winning, im just trying to have and save the game in the process. I mean i thnk they should allow that. I understand obviously it disables achievements, but id just like to save my game thats all. But thanks

i can't think of any games off the top of my head that allow saving with cheats enabled (i'm sure there are some somewhere, and someone will come along in a few minutes and refresh my memory with some of those games ) so why should this one?

I had no idea what those words all over the game were and then when I realized that they were cheats you could find it in there I got super excited and then I went to use one and it told me you can't save the game... My immediate reaction was well that's dumb why would you include them? I don't know about the rest of you but cheating in GTA was literally the most fun I had in the game... even to this day playing any game if I want unlimited ammo or new weapons or lower wanted level I will automatically put in the old GTA cheats for memory, doesn't usually work...

I have heard that the port is from the xbox 360 version and on that version you can't save after cheats have been used unlike the ps3 version. I wonder if you can save your game after using cheats like the ps3 version or if it's like the xbox 360 version.
