to Nagari - नगरी
Here are couple of Marathi movies I saw recently. They are better than
any of those run-of-the-mill copycat stolen bollywood garbage.

Gabhricha Paus
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabhricha_Paus
- shot in Amaravati (Vidharbha).

Gosht Choti Dongara Evadhi
http://gosht-choti.blogspot.com/
- shot in Shirur (Pune), realistic topic, terrible poorly thought out
solutions/last 30 minutes.

Farmer suicide in Maharashtra is a great concern. In these movies,
there is too much emphasis on government subsidies and corruption than
lack of skills, illiteracy, attitudes of farmers. I understand nature-
made disasters/droughts in farming, but why we lack controlling man-
made disasters in farming. There are some blatant examples of stealing
electricity/water, politically charged corrupt loan wavers, debt-
ridden land grabbing for farming all over India. Cooperative movement
which proudly started in 1950 in Ahmednagar to avoid exploitation of
farmers from money-lenders/private owners etc. There is a blatant
corruption in cooperative societies now. Are some of these societies
not paying huge electricity bills? Transaprency in governance will not
come in democracy, unless the citizen is aware, educated, can own the
problems (are 'Population/water scarcity/unprofessional management in
cooperative sector' problems in India?) and fight to solve them.

Probably, you should shoot movie in Ahmednagar on such REALISTIC
topics. One of the topic I would suggest - Why Ahmednagar is such a
below average city in Academics, Research, Industries, Sports etc.? We
nagaris can't blame it all on government when kids in our nagari
schools/colleges don't have basic reading/congnitive (thinking)
skills. Who would set up industries/research lab in such cities? Even
somebody did it for cost reasons, probably all non-nagaris will be
working there. Why would even Nagari go to school/college when I see
they don't even have basic 7th standard global level reading/
congnitive ability when they graduate? Change that rote learning
education.

Read Vandana Shiva's literature if possible. She is mentioned in
'Ahmednagar By year 2031' article -
http://nagarick.blogspot.com/2007/06/ahmednagar-by-year-2031-city-planning.html

The day ahmednagar becomes above average city, I would see such movies
released and preferred in theaters than present bollywood trash. When
city is like that, villages in ahmednagar have long long way to go to
better themselves.
