this is not proper solution, as there wont be more than 300-400
passengers for this route. and no major towns or cities covered.
there is existing route via pune.

Any rail line is good enough, the numbers will increase substantially
and development spreads once the rail line comes in. look at Punjab.
Every taluka in Punjab is connected by rail

I think a direct metro train could solve the problem as people could
stay here in nagar and work in Mumbai
It will increase the industrialisation in nagar and reduce the
congestion Mumbai

Puntamba-Shirdi rail work is done. From Sunday, March 4, 2009, Shirdi
Sai Baba devotees can directly reach Shirdi from Mumbai by an
overnight rail journey.

The train will leave CST at 10.55 p.m. and reach Shirdi at 10.30 a.m.
the next day. The return train will leave from Shirdi at 4.40 p.m. and
reach CST(Mumbai) at 4.25 a.m. via Dadar- Thane- Kalyan- Pune- Daund-
Ahmednagar- Puntamba stations with 22 halts on the way.

The average ticket of a journey from CST(Mumbai) to Shirdi will cost
nearly Rs. 130.
