I logged on this morning to find that my desktop app (Windows 10) for Dropbox is stuck on "Updating Dropbox Account..." and won't budge. I even attempted to re-install Dropbox, and that didn't work. Can someone help me with this, please?

According to the new local folder created based on this update, I've got 154.6 GB of files in this folder. Overall, I've got a total of 729 GB of assets synced from Dropbox to my desktop using the Dropbox app.

Hi, I am also experiencing the same issue since the patch and I am on the same version. A possible culprit is that since the update is that my local windows dropbox app mapping is no longer aligned with the file structure I can see on dropbox.com

My windows file explorer structure has now realigned with what I can see on dropbox.com. Unfortunately i don't have a clear set instructions to share on how I achieved this, but something along the line of below seemed to help:

What I would like to do is have a desktop link on my Mac's to a subfolder within my Dropbox folder that I can click to quickly access frequently used materials. I don't want to search through my entire Dropbox folder each time.

I have used Joplin for over a year. I have it running on my desktop. I have been synchronising my desktop app notebook with my android device using dropbox successfully. I have now changed my phone and loaded the Joplin app on my new phone. I cannot work out how to set up the desktop notebook sync with my new phone. Can you help? It's frustrating because I obviously got it to work with my previous phone - but cannot seem to repeat it. Thanks.

As an aside I figure I originally got my concepts mixed up. I originally thought you had to set up the each notebook to sync, but once I'd enabled the connection between dropbox and the device it sync'd all the notebooks that were sync enabled. Lesson learnt.

Press the Windows key and R and then cmd in the box to open the command prompt. Type cd.. and enter.Repeat until you get to C:\Type cd\users(yourname)\desktop (or whatever the location of your desktop is).Type dirThis will list the files and folders on your desktop. If you can see the name of the folder typermdir dropbox (or whatever the folder is called)

I have just found out that the desktop icon that I use to launch Dropbox has a "Permissions" tab under properties ("right click"->properties). The group permission here was set to "read-only" so I changed it to "read and write". I then closed Dropbox and restarted it using the desktop icon but it still creates files with group permission "r".

In addition to the website version, Dropbox also supports a desktop application for computer users. It can also provide the same functions as the web version. The files you upload via the web app are stored fully in the cloud, while you can also access them via the Dropbox desktop app.
