Welcome to the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers, Inc. (NAFBPO), we are a not for profit 501(c)4 organization. We have no political affiliation. We are not a labor union. Our senior members, which is the majority, are retired immigration law enforcement officers, with many years of experience in border security, and national security. Our membership also consists of many retired special agents that are very knowledgeable about interior enforcement, which is just as critically important as border security. Enforcement of immigration law must be just as robust at the border as it is in the interior of the United States.

Because of many years of lax immigration law enforcement, our entire country is now saturated with illegal aliens, many of which entered lawfully through our U.S. Ports of Entry, but violated their terms of admission and remained beyond their visa expiration date. This lax stance is not due to lack of effort by our agents and officers, but due to our elected officials who repeatedly failed to fund and man the enforcement agencies responsible.

Those that have entered illegally across our land border, and are apprehended, are offered "voluntary return" (VR) (this mainly intended for aliens from the neighboring countries of Canada and Mexico. It is not a a a deportation, although the current administration has been counting on those actions as deportations as a ploy to falsify the record and make them appear to be more enforcement minded.)They can decline a voluntary return and request for a hearing before an immigration judge. Many Mexicans and Canadians that have a record of multiple illegal entries will not be eligible for the VR. These cases are treated individually and there are policies of how the agent determines if these individuals will be criminally prosecuted, federally, for "Illegal Entry" (Title 8USC1325, a misdemeanor), and/or processed for a deportation proceeding before an IJ.

The current administration has all but shut down immigration law enforcement and as a result, encouraged illegal immigration. They are also twisting our "refugee" and "asylum" programs to provide permanent legal status to tens of thousands aliens who are motivated to come here for purely economic reasons and they are not being persecuted for their life style, religion, or their political positions. There has been very high crime in most undeveloped countries for many years and not due to American policies or influence, but simply because their elected officials are often corrupt and inept.
