Ihave configured Zoom Room app under the Autonomous single app mode setting in device restriction profile following the below Zoom support link. The enrollment profile is for Supervised device with no user affinity. The idea is to enroll the DEP iPads with Intune and launch Zoom Room in a single app mode.
The Autonomous single app mode setting in the device restriction is the only profile I applied, as well as the Zoom Room app. I haven't done anything else with the iPad. Do I also need to deploy the Company Portal app?
I have made the ASAM mode working for the Zoom Room app. You need to enable the Autonomous mode from Zoom Web Portal. Once deployed Zoom Room app to iPad and applied Device Restriction to configure the ASAM mode, you then need to launch the Zoom Room app and sign in to activate. Once you signed into the Zoom Room app, you will be locked within the App. The only way to exit the single app mode is to sign out with a code, which is configured on the Zoom Web Portal. Once you signed out, you gain full access to iPad, just like Guided Access.
@Thijs Lecomteis there a way to do per-app exception? The Scenario is: Devices coming from Apple Business Manager and using "Device Affinity" profile in Intune. So they are user-less type of ipads and want to launch zoom cloud meeting app in locked mode. All that works and Zoom cloud meetings open up however when you try to join the meeting, the app doesnt have access to Microphone or camera so you really only hear as app is locked into kiosk and you can't go to settings to allow Mic/camera. is there anyway to allow exceptions for apps that use Mic/camera?
The use of ASAM, you have to initiate the session yourself as it doesnt automatically start. is that correct? Also you have to setup ASAM on all the rooms setup under zoom and have to configure ASAM on Intune, in order to have it locked during the session. is that correct?
When I create a new event in the zoom application on my PC and select "Add to Outlook Calendar", it does not add the event to my Outlook calendar. However, I know that my calendars are synched otherwise, because I see all of my Outlook appointments within the Zoom app. Please help me determine why it is not adding back my new appointments onto my Outlook calendar.
Hi @mandiASME welcome to the community! I see you had a ticket opened with our Zoom technical support, and they were able to further clarify about the sync of Zoom and Outlook; do you mind sharing what the conclusion of the fix was?
To my understanding, this was related to enabling continuous meeting chat? In the event that the calendar integration is configured correctly, the bi-direct sync is enabled, and the Enable continuous meeting chat is enabled as well. The meeting list will show all upcoming meetings that they will host, as well as all upcoming meetings that other people will host. Today's events will also be synchronized with the calendar.
I am attempting to replicate; and do you mind me asking @BrandonQ with Using calendar and contacts integration; when creating your meeting from the Zoom desktop client (schedule), are you clicking on Outlook from the dropdown?
I am shocked that there isn't a better answer for Outlook 2010 on Windows 7, so I will be checking back. What I settled on is pretty poor: using the "Make it easier to read what's on your screen" feature in Windows 7 and setting an overall magnification to 125%. Unfortunately, you have to log off and log back in in order to see the effect, which makes it a pain to experiment.
This feature is accessed in Windows 7 by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting "Screen resolution", and then clicking "Make text and other items larger or smaller" near the bottom. There is also an option to "Set custom text size (DPI)", but I didn't take the time to try it out. You can also access this dialog by typing "Make it easier to read" into the control panel search.
I tried 150%, but this caused unacceptable degradation to fonts in certain programs, such as MATLAB. At 125%, I am unhappy with some of the effects, but it is a fair balance to be able to read my email without zooming on every message. On the other hand it is a big downside to overcome deficiencies in one app, so I think I may just switch to this mode when I have a lot of email to read and then switch back - despite logging off and on twice!
I've been looking for a solution to help with this too in Outlook 2013 and just came across a third party commercial add on to help with this called "Zoom Email Windows Add-In" from -email-windows.asp.
I just installed the trial in Outlook 2013 32bit and it is working well for me, i.e. it automatically sets the zoom value in the Reading Pane to what I configured. I wanted to suggest this if you are still looking for a solution.
here is updated Outlook VBA code that resizes both opened messages and the reading pane. Microsoft blocked access to the Zoom parameter so you will have to first install Redemption drivers ( ) and then under VBA Tools/References activate "Microsoft Word 15.0 Object Library" and "Redemption Outlook and MAPI COM Library". paste and run the code below, zoom is set in MsgZoom constant.
Inside the Outlook client, on the bottom right of the Outlook pane, there's the zoom slider bar. Click on the number next to the bar. This pops up a new dialog box that lets you select a zoom level or type in a custom level. There is a checkbox at the bottom that says "Remember my preference." I've closed and re-launched Outlook several times and so far seems to be sticking at the level I set.
A band aid solution: I seem to have different visuals on my laptop for these controls since the laptop is a lower DPI (the laptop screen is not as high resolution). By using Outlook and other items with smaller text on my Laptop, I see these better than by scaling EVERYTHING too much. It's not an ideal solution but I now read my emails and other desktop applications on my laptop, and webpages on my monitor.
Zoom supports an Outlook calendar integration to display your non-zoom scheduled meetings in your Zoom Meeting Desktop Application. The Outlook meetings will appear in your Meetings list in the Zoom Desktop app. Integration between Zoom and Exchange may be impacted as basic authentication is discontinued for Office 365. Some users find that their Exchange calendar and contacts either disappear from Zoom or stop updating after switching to Office 365. Users experiencing this need to reconfigure Office 365 calendar and contact integration in Zoom as detailed in this article.
