The term "clustering" does not have a well-defined meaning when used inreference to streaming servers, so this depends on the type of clustering towhich you are referring. The three most common meanings include:
In this scenario, you would provision multiple physical servers which act as"relays" for the ShoutCast stream. Each relay contacts the ShoutCast streamand acts as a "repeater", rebroadcasting the stream to reduce the load on themain physical server.
High-availability (HA) clustering solutions are extremely complex, usuallydepend on custom hardware configurations, and always require installation andongoing maintenance by a qualified systems administrator who is thoroughlyfamiliar with HA clustering solutions. They require shared storage (NAS, GFS,drbd, etc.), a heartbeat solution, a replicated MySQL database, and many otherelements that are not supported "out-of-the-box" by Centova Cast or any otherShoutCast control panel due to the complexity and custom nature of suchsolutions.
That said, it is certainly possible to use Centova Cast in such a scenario --for the most part, if your systems administrator is familiar with HAclustering of nginx/PHP/MySQL, the same principles will apply to CentovaCast.
Note that this article is for migrating full Centova Cast installations only,including the web interface. If you are migrating a control (slave) serverwhich is controlled by a separate web interface server, refer to this article instead.
Login to your client account at centova.com.Click Manage Product Licenses, then click on your Centova Cast license.Then, click the Re-issue license link. At this point, Server A will be leftwithout a valid license, but will continue to work normally for several days.
Be sure to install it exactly as you did on Server A, including the samestreaming server and autoDJ software and any configuration file modificationsyou may have made.
Note: In the particular case of Liquidsoap, it may not be possible to upgradeto the latest version on older systems. In this case, you will want to hold offthe installation of Liquidsoap (on server B), until after you have completed themigration.
Backup the /usr/local/centovacast/var/vhosts/ directory on Server A. By farthe fastest and most efficient way to do this, is to use rsync to copy the entire directoryand its contents directly to server B.
If rsync is not available for some reason, you can alternatively use FTP, NFS or any other method available that would allow you to copy the contents of /usr/local/centovacast/var/vhosts/over to server B.
After restoring the database, and starting Centova Cast on server B, login to the web interface using the admin account, and restore the authentication key under Management > Hosts > Edit cluster server, to match the key in "/usr/local/centovacast/etc/rpcshadow" on server B.
Features available in the interface include everthing necessary to run a radio station or reseller services including detailed statistical reporting with historical log keeping, comprehensive playlist and media file management tools, all the required settings for Shoutcast, Icecast (versions 1 & 2) and the several streaming source software tools required, and account management tools of course including listener, disk space, bit rate and bandwidth limits. One can also cluster Centova cast in order to form pools of servers and bandwidth which is an important requirement for a growing business or popular radio station.

Yes, with the new Centova v3 comes a powerful dj manager which allows you to not only assign each of your djs their own, unique username and password to access your Centova Cast, but also allow/restrict access to various features of your auto dj, and even limit the times/days they are allowed to login. Click on the DJ Manager on the left menu of your Centova Cast to begin.
The Dj Manager also allows your djs to connect using their live source software such as Sam Broadcaster, Virtual DJ or the free Win Map Broadcaster.
