Hey there!

So the Nadine Project website went down over thanksgiving when the server died.  I just now got to rebuilding the machine and getting a website up at that address.

In other news, who all is paying attention to this mailing list these days?  We've been making some good progress updating Nadine lately.  Is anyone else running the software?

Great news. Does this mean you are gonna bring development of Nadine back to life too? :)

I've learned some python now, maybe I can bring myself to do something useful.

We never fully killed development, just shifted our focus internally.   Mostly it's because I can't carry the development load for a big software project like this.  I've always insisted that we would need more developers if this was ever going to take off.  At some point I started explaining Nadine as a great starting point if anyone was going to roll their own solution but to date, no one has taken it and ran with it.

So yes, we are still working on it and we've added some pretty nice features over the past year.

I've love to use it for camaraderie, but I don't have the development support or talent.

I might be able to sponsor someone to help with it, though. i'll give that some thought.
r.

If we had team members in Toronto, Brussels, and NYC (Tony's up for it) then we could do some real damage... I mean good.  :)

A designer would be essential so don't just think software folks.  Also a project manager, and maybe a build manager would be wonderful.

Jacob, please don't understand my comment as criticism: it was the contrary. I'm very happy that you guys are back at work with Nadine and understand the strain and hard work that means.

The problem for me is that I cannot contribute code to the project and the intern I tried to put to it never got anything done.

Will continue spreading the word :)

Yes, I totally understand.  That's how it is running a software project like this.  If you have the cash to jump in and do it up right, you need a way to make money on the whole thing to justify it.  That isn't the goal of this software so it's at the mercy of whomever is working on it at the time and their priorities.  Lucky for Nadine she's got us to keep her warm.  We'll continue to make improvements as time goes on but things like installation and customization are never going to get a lot of attention since those aren't priorities for us here at Office Nomads.   Now if we had a few spaces doing the same....
