1 - We do Chandi homam every year. For Vijaya varusham we havent performed and only 3 months left. So we thought of doing on 12th and 13th on a minimum scale (without compromising on the parayanam or procedure).

Coming Aadi month, we shall do it in regular scale with Achalapuram mama and Sundar anna as we will have more time to plan.

2 - Almost every year we are into another seva. Sandalwood for Tiruvarur Thyagaraja Swami. There are 2 unique things about Tiruvarur Thyagaraja swami - Sengazhuneer pushpam and Krishna Gandham.

Legend goes: Muchukunda Chakravarthy sought the Thyagaraja Swami idol from Indra as a boon. Thyagaraja Idol was speacial for Indra and he didnt want to part with it. He created duplicates identical to original and placed them together. He asked Muchukunda Raja to come next day and choose the one he wants to take.

In the dream of Muchukunda, swami came and told - There are 2 unique things you will find only in the original idol. Sengazhuneer pushpam and Krishna Gandham. Muchukunda Raja took this clue and got the original idol which is presently in Tiruvarur.

A very divinely thing is: Sengazhuneer flower, that grows like lotus is rare and is only seen around Tiruvarur. After few years of effort, we have now the same flower in Nadakudi. 

Next time you visit Nadakudi, dont miss taking one of them from our pond and offer it to Thyagaraja.

Krishna Gandham is made out of Sandal wood and other ingredients. We buy around 5 Kg (Cost ~90000 Rs) every year.
