The Asheville Currency Project is fast approaching the start of our
"Design the Currency" contest for our proposed local currency, the
Smoky Mountain Holler. This has brought up some discussion on the
necessary elements and iconography for a piece of currency,
specifically the serial number. Do we really need them? What's the
least expensive, most efficient method of putting them on? What are
they used for? Any information or advice the group could provide would
be greatly appreciated.
