Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enhances security for your OpenAI account by adding an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access. This guide explains how MFA works with OpenAI, where to enable it, and how to set it up effectively.

How to Use:

To enable MFA, go to Settings in ChatGPT or the OpenAI developer platform. Once enabled, you'll be prompted to provide a verification code from an authenticator app during login, adding a crucial security layer.

Note that changing your authentication method requires un-enrolling and re-enrolling in MFA. OpenAI supports TOTP authentication with fallback options like recovery codes or email codes.

Follow these steps to enhance the security of your OpenAI account and protect your data from unauthorized access.
