Dr. Ndubuisi,
Are you kidding me? Are you sincerely apologizing for the events that erupted at the last NAA meeting? This doesn't sound like an apology and sure will not placate any member of NAA that is seriously frown at you and your co-executive committee members right now. You claim to regret the turn of events but at the same time use such derogatory words such as "one Mr Idowu Ohioze" (as if he is not human or shouldn't be heard), and demeaning people on your opposition. This are people who are actually representative of the majority of Edmontonian Nigerians who do not like the way things are being done in NAA and wish to initiate changes. Yet instead of admitting the laxities and decadence within the current executive committee of NAA and welcome changes, you see the constructive opposition as an aggression on your personality and even stressing one of the issues that people dislike (forcing them to pay dues by claiming they are not members).
The current administration has not been able to account for every penny spent, yet you want people to pay more. You can prove me wrong by emailing the income and expenditure account book to every member of NAA.After all it shouldn't be a secret . May be you don't get it and I don't think anybody has stated it more clearly before now. EDMONTONIAN NIGERIANS ARE FED UP OF THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION AND WANT IT DISSOLVED. Plain and simple. Even going by the NAA constitution, new election is long due and one should be held. Or do you have a sinister agenda for remaining there? Why not prove us all wrong.
I can bet your email of apology has not pacified anybody. But you've only succeeded in sparking another round of debate against the current administration.
Merry christmas.

Subject: Re: NAA General Meeting of December 19Fellow members of the Nigeria Association of Alberta,
For and on behalf of the Executive and Board of the Nigeria Association of Alberta (NAA), I hereby wish to apologize to all of you for the disquieting behavior that occurred during our last general meeting on Sunday, December 19, 2010.
I regret that attempt s to hold a mutual discussion on issues slated for deliberation at the said meeting were hijacked and frustrated by what appears to be a planned, reckless and uncontrollable action of some of the attendees to the meeting some of who are not members of the NAA .
There is no gainsaying the fact that we can agree to disagree about issues concerning the NAA and be passionate about our views. However, resorting to actions which were aimed at inflicting physical injuries on members of the NAA and attendees to NAA meeting through unbecoming and ill-directed behaviors is a lawless and unfruitful way to engaging in a genuine discussion.
We on the Board regret the series of e-mail messages being circulated after the afore-mentioned meeting some of which are solely aimed at generating strife, causing division and disaffection on law-abiding members of the NAA. We therefore urge all those behind these messages to show restraint, engage in providing more fruitful ideas and/or ventures that could address the interest and needs of the community and allow peace to prevail.
We assure members of the NAA that the Board is tackling the issues that concern the NAA in the present situation accordingly, and we will update members from time to time, as things evolve. In the same vein, the Board is prepared to address the issues raised in the letter recently circulated by one Mr Idowu Ohioze.
It is vital to inform members that:
There are up-to-date financial reports on all NAA events during the present administration (eg: Heritage festivals and Nigeria Days).
There is fully documented evidence of NAA Returns to AGLC (Gamming) and Alberta Registries.
The election and/or appointment of each and every one of the present members of the NAA board were done according to the provisions in our constitution.
Every community, society or association has its own issues and problems and we should not allow our own situation to be hijacked and used to destroy the very fabric on which the NAA was built by its founding fathers.
Thank you and have a prosperous New Year.
Dr. Ndubuisi Nnamani.

Nnamani Ndubuisi is the most ridiculous and insensitive element I've ever known in my life. I will not waste my time to respond to the specifics of this email because in the first instance, you and your "selected" board member were the architect of NAA present predicament.
But for you to state that some Nigerians came to inflict physical injuries on other Nigerians at the NAA general meeting held on 19th December 2010 was a blatant lie. As a matter of fact, this unfounded allegation underscores my position that you, Nnamani Ndubuisi, lacks the moral fibre to be a leader. Your expectation is that Nigerians should swallow tranquilizing pill of gradualism and allow you to keep running NAA affairs in "same old, same old" ways. People of your generation have done enough harm to Nigeria as a country, I will not sit down and allow you to destroy Nigerian community in Canada. We will demand for transparency and accountability in the operations of NAA affairs.
For your information, Idowu Ohioze is not the only one calling for sanity in NAA. He has got companies in calling on the city of Edmonton to help us look into the affairs of NAA. It is obvious that Ndubuisi and his "selected" board member do not want internal resolution, we shall call on the City of Edmonton and AGC

Dear Dr. Nnamani,Your recent email seems to sidetrack the issues. With or without the said letter by Mr. Idowu Ohioze, and the controversial letter to the Igbo Community, the hand writing has been on the wall for a long time that a lot of Nigerians are not pleased with the way you and your board are running the affairs of the NAA. To my knowledge this includes Nigerians from all creeds; except of course, those who choose to ignore the obvious in pursuit of other interests. The point of this whole crisis is that Nigerians are not pleased with the way things are being done and they want a positive change. But as they say: "those who make peaceful change impossible make violent (rowdy) change inevitable". It is also said that "insanity is doing the same thing over and over in the face of contrary evidence and expecting different result".I believe that other friends and close associates (if they are truly friends and associates) would have advised you to do the honorable thing. But in case they have'nt, my advice to you is: read the signs, use your "learnings" and allow the NAA to move on to a new era peacefully. Remember, no one can lead a group or community by force. There is enough bad news about Nigerians, do not precipitate another embarrassment here in Edmonton. This is my two cents. Like many others, I have refrained from jumping into the recent fray, but given the tone of your email, I thought you might listen to an objective advice... and may be you will.
