Development versions are released every time a developer makes a change to Dolphin, several times every day! Using development versions enables you to use the latest and greatest improvements to the project. However, they are less tested than releases.
Rendez-vous ici pour signaler des bugs : the issue tracker. Avant de crer un nouveau rapport, essayez de le reproduire avec une version de dveloppement rcente et recherchez galement dans les rapports dj transmis.
If anyone could test it, and check this is ok, no need to install it, the 7z compressed version is sufficient for now.
This is testing, it should be ok but it needs some validation.
i'm trying to setup dolphin emulator on ubuntu, as it was working fine on manjaro. the dolphin stable version is working fine but i need the development version for vulkan support i believe. tried inputting:
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.In the lakebed temple, I just defeat the dungeon boss (the huge eel-ish thing) and the cutscene directly after that when the water level starts dropping the picture freezes but the music keeps on going.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Well, it's expected that the cutscene, and the game for that matter, will simply continue on. Instead I see a frozen picture and music that mocks me by continuing on.
OS version and versions of tools/libraries used?
I'm running windows 7 64-bit. Not sure what you're wanting when you say versions of tools/libraries... um, I'm using the latest version of DirectX at least...
Please provide any additional information below.
I'm not sure why this is happening, obviously. I've tried changing my settings (hundreds upon thousands of times) That also includes all the built in CPU emulator engines and the graphics plugins Direct 3D 9 & 11, OpenGL and Software Renderer. I've also tried three different downloads of LoZ TP just to see if maybe the download itself was corrupted but that also doesn't seem to be the case. I guess it has something to do with my computer but I sure as heck don't know what.
I've seen some other issues similar to this (though the freezing doesn't happen in the same place) but seeing as how nobody ever actually solved the problem I figured I'd try my luck as well. Advice and help please! I want to finish this game dang it...
I"m having the same problem but its right before the lakebed temple boss. i have it saved right before i jump inside the hole to fight the boss and no matter what settings i change it keeps freezing. im using dolphin 3.0 plz help : (
You should start by using a version of Dolphin that isn't over three years old. Try a current development build. (If you're worried about speed, well, Dolphin is actually getting faster nowadays.) -emu.org/download/
You also might have a bad dump of the game if it's failing consistently in one spot, in which case you'll want to get the MD5 hash of your copy (on current Dolphin, you can just right-click > Properties > Info > "Calculate MD5" or whatever it is) and compare it to the one on redump.org or gametdb.com for your version of the game. If they don't match, redump the game from the original disc.
It sounds like the package conflicts, and they should probably update their package to properly mark it as conflicting with dolphin-emu. You could probably edit the pkgbuild to point -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX to somewhere else other than /usr, maybe /opt would be viable. Also remove the line from package() about the udev rule, because you'll already have that file there from the official dolphin-emu package.
While doing a bit of testing with Dolphin, a popular android based browser, I discovered a prompt to upgrade my browser, Seems WordPress thinks Dolphin is an outdated version of Chrome and wants me to update my browser.
Hi,
After updating to ZorinOS 17.1 KDE dolphin no longer shows the previews of the folders that are on my windows drive. Before it could.
Installing through software and packages (snap and flatpacks can see even the drive) the version installed is 21.12.3. We are already in 24.xxx.
How can I add o update the repositories to install newer versions?
If You prefer KDE Desktop and want have a more up-to-date KDE Desktop You could try the KDE own Distro KDE Neon. There You have a LTS Base, too. But KDE updates his Desktop there. So, there You have the newest Plasma 6 Version.
Updated to the latest LB release. I was prompted toupdate my Dolphin version to the latest one, which I did. Upon restarting, LB crashes during the plugin startup step. I checked Dolphin, which wasn't updated, updated it normally, but even then, the error persists.
at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Root.PreparePluginsForLoad(String folderLocation)
at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Desktop.App..ctor()
at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Desktop.Program.Main(String[] args)
However, over there we were seeing the issue when opening Big Box via LaunchBox, but opening the Big Box exe directly was working fine. Whereas you say in your report that it's actually LaunchBox that is crashing, is that right?
The reason the error persists after updating Dolphin manually is that I believe the problematic file is related to Dolphin plugin for LaunchBox (which is what is used to manage the installation, and is separate from Dolphin itself ).
Hey @bob_the_blob2, thanks for mentioning that post. Yeah, looks similar to what I am experiencing, but I cannot open LB at all, since it crashes during the startup screen, in the plugin step. I tried opening up Big box directly from its executable, same result.
When selecting the folder to reinstall in, select the root folder LaunchBox is in. in your case: E:\Google Drive\Emulation\ The installer will add LaunchBox\ to the path. i.e. Make sure it's not installing/updating to E:\Google Drive\Emulation\LaunchBox\LaunchBox\
Do what Joe states, if that doesn't work navigate to \\LaunchBox\Data\Settings.xml and open it in a text editor. In the bottom of the file look for a tag. If it's there remove it and save the file. Then attempt to open LaunchBox.
@strigoimare Yeah, remove the entire section, all of them that exist. Is the E drive a physical drive or just a logical drive linked to your google drive? That error indicates that there are characters in the path that don't belong and given what you're showing was in the settings file I'm curious how they are getting into the error message.
@C-Beats Yep, removed it all, and I still get the same error, for a MAME plugin, as per my last edit in the message above. No more strings in that xml.
That E: drive is a physical drive indeed, a big removable drive with a stable E attribution I've been using for the last couple years. Thanks for the assistance.
Out of desperation, I tried reinstalling the .14 build, and that did the job. I was able to complete the plugin startup. Everything was normal, all was as I had left it.
Then, I tried reinstalling the latest patch once more. Much to my surprise, this installation doesn't recognize my lifetime license, and it displays a vanilla installation without any of my ROMS. It is now detecting my Storefront games. All my playlists, etc, nothing is being displayed. At this stage, I am afraid of even touching the thing.
EDIT: lol, I closed it and reopened with the desktop shortcut, it proceeded to reinstall 13.15 and now I cannot reopen it again, same Dolphin plugin error as before. I will try to reinstall .14 again and won't touch this version ever again.
EDIT3: Once I closed the above session, trying to reopen Launchbox prompts me to reinstall .15. When I cancelled it, the update ended, but now the .exes do not work anymore. No error message, nothing, the process simply doesn't get executed. Nothing in my Task Manager regarding it.
Well, back to my Steam Deck.
Hey @strigoimare sorry to hear this has been such a pain for you. Let's see if we can try and get this update loop unstuck for you
While I can't say for certain, based on the behaviour you're seeing, it's possible that when you attempted to re-install LaunchBox, the root folder wasn't selected, which would result in the extra LaunchBox directory Joe mentioned (`E:\Google Drive\Emulation\LaunchBox\LaunchBox\`). The reason I say that is because you mentioned after re-installing LaunchBox it wasn't recognising your license information. Can you double-check if that is the case?
Regardless, let's get you onto a 13.14 version that isn't auto-updating and we can see how to tackle the rest from there, can you try the following:
I will try reinstalling 13.14 later on when I get home and I will edit this reply with the results.
EDIT: Yep, that did work, as expected. I had forgotten that I could disable auto-updates, doh.
Closed and reopened, all is good. Only gripe is that I cannot close the update prompt on the bottom-right. Clicking on the X does not close it, it has to time out. Appreciate the help.
