NAAAP National Convention Recap

"The National Association of Asian American Professionals held their 24th Annual
Convention at San Francisco this year and I actively participated as as
a volunteer. Through the event, I was able to learn about the logistics
behind hosting a convention and I hope to share my experiences to host
similar events as a collegiate for my fellow college students. I am grateful for the opportunity to experience firsthand a successful volunteer group so that when I
am recruiting volunteers myself, I can become a leader who can instill
trust, confidence, and inspiration to achieve a common goal together." -

NAAAPSD Networking for a Cause Recap

On Thursday, Aug 26, 2010, NAAAP San Diego hosted its monthly "Networking for a Cause" Mixer at Pampas Argentine Grill. The owner, Marco, attended to us personally as host to our guests and tantalized us with traditional Argentine Tapas, Sangrias and more.
Calamari is a dish often available on menus but seldom presented and
enjoyed in a fashion that leaves guests craving for more.
A portion of our net proceeds was donated to Kiva, an
organization dedicated to alleviating poverty by providing micro loans
to entrepreneurs in developing countries around the world. If you
were not able to attend this event, take a moment to visit their
website and consider making a small loan that can make a big difference
by funding a new business and helping individuals out of poverty.
Our next Networking for a Cause Mixer will be on the last Thursday of
September, 9/30/2010. We will be hosting the event at another
award-winning venue, Saigon on 5th, which also has an underground
parking. Keep you eye out for upcoming flier!
