"Networking for a Cause" Mixer Recap

On May 27th, NAAAP San Diego held it's 5th Monthly "Networking for a Cause" Mixer at Cafe Japengo in La Jolla.  Food and beverages were enjoyed by all amongst the company of friends and colleagues.  A portion of our net proceeds were donated to Day at the Beach; a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and well-being of underprivileged children and Special Olympians in San Diego County.  Networking for a Cause will return on Thursday, July 29th.  Details will be provided as they become available.

"Women in NAAAP" Brunch Recap

The Women in NAAAP (WIN) Brunch held on June 13th at Kitchen 1540 at Hotel L’Auberge Del Mar was highly fun-filled and captivating!  Special guest speaker May Wattie Singh, National Sales Executive of Catalent Pharma Solution, shared tips and experiences she has gathered as an Asian American female succeeding in the corporate environment. Her key theme? She's not done reaching for her goals and reminds us all that we deserve every bit of success we work (and ask) for as well.  The brunch was attended by women whose cultures and backgrounds spanned all over Asia as well as Europe, Canada, and South America - very diverse indeed! We hope you join us at our next WIN event.  We'll keep you informed on our website www.naaapsandiego.org and through our e-newsletters.

"Executive Panel Seminar" Recap

On June 24th, NAAAAP hosted an Executive Panel Seminar featuring 3 of San Diego's noted Asian American professionals: Louis Song, CEO of Proven Inc., Jimmy Thai, Vice President of SAIC, and Kim-Thoa Hoang, San Diego Deputy District Attorney. This event was moderated by NAAAP National Senior Advisor Dr. Vu Pham, who actively engaged the attendees with thinking about how leadership is projected and how the stories from the panel share similar traits of successful leaders.

This was NAAAP’s first joint event with We Chinese in America Magazine and we hope to partner with other organizations to bring quality events to our members. Please visit our website as we plan to host similar speaker panel events in the future.
