We're looking to switch from flyers to yard signs for advertising our meetings. I've seen Mahncke Park do the same. Do y'all have any thoughts on that method?

Any recommendations on where to order those?

Speaking as a high-tech resident of Mahncke Park, I think yard signs are a delightful low-tech reminder that gets me as I drive home.
I sometimes need it all three ways - yard sign, paper newsletter and online!
I bet that Mahncke Park Newsletter editor Bruce Martin knows who bought the sign - his phone is 826-2611.

I think yard signs are a great idea and I have seen work effectively in various neighborhoods.

BHANA has been using them for about a year. We purchased at Allied Signs on Blanco. I think we pd about $165 for 12, but I'd have to double ck our inv to be sure. I can email you a photo. Each of our 7 Board members has one, plus the church where we hold our mtgs, the Community Garden, Cotton Elementary and a couple floaters. We put them out the Tuesday before the next Monday mtg.

Cosima, there's a place here on West Ave. I'll ask if they make those signs and how much. Adios

Hi Marc,

We use them for our neighborhood meetings, and I think it works pretty well.  We have large signs we post at major intersections, and also smaller yard signs that members put in front of their houses the week of the meeting.  We got them from Staples - they were having a deal for half off at the time.  I also looked into Vistaprint and a couple of other online places.  Good luck!

RRNA River Road Neighborhood Association has been using signs for a decade. We only have two ways into the neighborhood, so two signs placed a few days prior to the meeting are sufficient. We have one large 4'x6' sign for our annual porch sale. A member donated a couple dozen individual yard signs when we were fighting a demolition. They were very popular. I am considering producing yard signs for all members (small).
I would suggest spending a little extra to make them good looking. A logo is nice.
