Hi neighbors!
I’m getting my dryer vent cleaned soon and thought I’d share — the technician, Robert, is giving a group deal if a few of us book together.
It’s normally $299, but drops to $179 per household when three or more homes sign up. I’ve already booked mine, so we just need a couple more neighbors to join in!

Can the list admin please block these spammers?
If you are an actual NHH member and are promoting this stuff, you are
spamming the club list. I don't know what club policy is, but my
proposal would be, stop it or be kicked off the list.

Chris is going to work on this. We don't know how they are getting these emails through. Obviously they are good at what they do. Every time we block an email, it comes in from a different email address. If anyone has expertise in how to block hackers who aren't members of the group, please help.

They have the main email address so they can just keep coming in from new ones. They are also likely harvesting email addresses from other users so be aware.
Only way to stop it for good is to change the group email address and only tell people who are known to be in the club.

A few questions & suggestions...two basic things to consider.
How is list membership controlled, and who can post to the list?
If addresses that are not list members can post to the list, that needs
to be changed - set it so only list members can post.
If someone (or some bot) can join the list without moderator(s) approval
then spambots will keep joining the list.
If it's not already configured this way, try setting it so:
1) Joining the list must be approved by moderator(s)
2) Only members of the list can post to the list

As mentioned, list can be configured so only members can post.
And membership controlled by moderator(s).
Spammers can still spoof member addresses of course but that is less likely.
Changing the list address will not help, as it will still be found by
crawlers and bots, it is not possible to use it and also keep it secret.
Even on systems where the list address can be hidden from public view in
the management interface, as soon as it is used to send or receive mail
it is visible in internet traffic, and there are 'sniffers' that do
nothing but watch for addresses not already in their database and
harvest them.
If help is needed configuring the list as best as possible vs. spam I
can help, I would need admin access to adjust the settings.
