I've installed a fair number of these units but recently encountered
an issue I can't figure out.

After installing the 250K version into a customer's MIM Strat the unit
will only power on when pulling up on the volume ONCE. If I
disconnect the cable from the circuitry and reconnect it, the leds
light only once thereafter.

Anyone else encountered this? I've since ordered a replacement unit,
but I'd sure like to know how to fix this.

Many thanks

Are you taking proper static prevention methods into account when
handling the PCB?

Thank you for contacting N-Tune with this issue.  To date we have not heard of this issue in the field, is there anyway to check the ribbon cable to see if it has a nick that may be grounding out on the threads or the "C" washer?

Indeed, I try to take every precaution to disperse any ESD from my
work area. While I know this is likely an isolated incident I would
still like to know what happened or why, so I know what to look for in
the future.

The cable is not nicked or pinched. The battery is fully charged at
9.21V and the push/pull pot is functioning correctly. Though I know
it's unlikely I'm going to have to fault the circuitry on this one.
