I have written a chapter "Islamic Arts in the Curriculum" for a
recently published book "Every Muslim Child Matters" (published by
Trentham Books). The idea is to inform school teachers about how
they can use the arts of Islam in their teaching, clear away any
misunderstandings, and encourage them to (a) make contact with Muslim
artists and (b) invite them into school to work with their pupils
To disseminate this book, we are holding four conferences for
teachers and educationalists next March in different parts of the
UK. I will be leading workshops, and would like to encourage
teachers by giving them information about artists in their locality
and nation-wide - a Register of Muslim UK artists.
